Sony’s PlayStation VR (PS VR) sold a little over 50,000 units in the first few days of its release in Japan, according to recently released data.
As reported by Japanese gaming site 4Gamer, using data compiled and provided by Media Create, the virtual reality headset shifted 51,644 units for the week of October 10 to October 16 in the country. The system itself was released worldwide on October 13, so these figures represent the number of units sold at launch and in the first couple of days of it being on sale.
The core PlayStation VR system, which brings virtual reality support to the PS4, retails at $399.99 in the US, and £350 in the UK.
