PAX Australia 2016

PAX Australia 2016, the southern hemisphere’s largest gaming expo, has today finalised its line-up of exhibitors and panels ahead of its opening day on November 4.

PlayStation, Microsoft and Nintendo have all confirmed their attendance, alongside major third-party publishers Ubisoft and Bandai Namco. Wizards of the Coast, the creators of Magic: The Gathering, are also set to exhibit, as are more than 100 independent video game developers.

PAX Aus attendees will also be able to listen to the creators of their favourite games discuss their work, with panels including a conversation about the world of Dishonored 2 and the creation of new champions in League of Legends, along with a keynote from Xbox Live director Major Nelson on the Friday morning.

A number of tournaments, Q&A sessions and live musical performances are also set to take place throughout the expo’s three days, many of which will be streamed live via YouTube and Twitch.

In a press release, PAX co-founder Jerry Holkins said: “This year’s PAX Aus is set to be the biggest yet, with a weekend that gives players hands-on access to this holiday’s slate of anticipated titles.

“Gaming is a global culture, and for the weekend of PAX Aus, its capital is Melbourne, Australia.”

PAX Australia 2016 will take place from November 4 to November 6 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Single day badges are available for $65 from the organisers. Domestic three-day badges have sold out, but those travelling internationally can still purchase their full-event pass.
