More weapons that featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have been discovered in the files of Modern Warfare Remastered, along with a shovel melee weapon and a couple of all-new additions.
These latest findings, along with a number of relevant lines of code, are sure to fuel speculation that Activision is planning to release additional weapons to the game as future DLC.
Last week, YouTuber SamuelTDope data mined the FN FAL assault rifle in the remastered first-person shooter’s PC release, and he has now discovered a whole host of new weapons hidden in the game that originally appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, including the PP2000, Black Ops 1 Galil, a muddy desert eagle, the MP44 (also known as the STG 44), the Striker auto-shotgun, the .44 Magnum, and the M240.
Additionally, an all-new melee shovel weapon, and a Kamchatka auto-shotgun have also been discovered.
While Activision has been attempting to take down evidence of these weapons by issuing copyright strikes on YouTube, you can view them in the gallery below, courtesy of image hosting site Imgur:
If that wasn’t all, users have also discovered lines of code within MWR’s files that suggest these weapons are tied to ‘loot‘ in some way; suggesting Activision plans, or had planned, to introduce them via a supply drop and/or black market system, as seen in last year’s Black Ops III. Additional flags pointing to an ‘armoury dealer‘ in-game add weight to these suggestions.
