Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us co-director Bruce Straley will not return to helm The Last of Us Part II, according to gaming website Kotaku.
Instead, fellow co-director and creative lead Neil Druckmann will direct Naughty Dog’s survival horror sequel, according to the publication.
Sony officially unveiled the title at last night’s PSX 2016 presser, showing off a teaser trailer featuring the return of the first game’s Ellie in a starring role.
Straley was conspicuous by his absence at this week’s Game Awards 2016, where fellow co-director Neil Druckmann and veteran writer Josh Scherr appeared on stage to accept Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End award for Best Narrative.
Straley is believed to be on a year-long sabbatical from the studio.
