Sony’s PlayStation 4 is the best-selling console in the UK for the third consecutive year.
The news comes via a new TV spot unveiled by the company in the country on terrestrial television earlier this evening, which declares the console to be the best-selling system of 2014, 2015 and now, 2016.
The advert aired in conjunction with major high street retailer Tesco to promote a £230 PS4 bundle, which includes a copy of game-of-the-year-nominated titles Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Overwatch.
Although Microsoft’s Xbox One saw a massive resurgence towards the end of 2016 following the release of the Xbox One S – beating out the PS4 in September and October – the outcome had been widely predicted for some time.
