Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare developer Infinity Ward was left red-faced earlier after pushing a playlist designed for internal testing only onto the game’s live servers.
Users were soon quick to spot the blunder, as the playlist appeared prominently at the top of the first-person shooter’s online menu as “Playlist_”.
While the leak wasn’t as exciting as some may have hoped, it did provide some evidence that the studio is testing skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) for possible inclusion in Infinite Warfare.
SBMM is a feature that generated a significant amount of controversy upon its inclusion in Advanced Warfare back in 2014; Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games eventually relented and reversed the changes following heavy user criticism.
