Red Dead Redemption 2 Might Release on the Nintendo Switch

Red Dead Redemption 2 has got a lot of praise and love. It is everything that fans wanted it to be and the president of Nintendo America Reggie Fils-Aime talked about why the game has not released for the Nintendo Switch and whether or not we could get a port in the future.

According to him, Red Dead was in development years before the Nintendo Switch was planned. That is one of the reasons why the game did not release for the Switch. He mentioned that when a game is under development for such a long time, developers try to finish the game before looking at other opportunities.

He hinted that Red Dead Redemption 2 might release for the Nintendo Switch in the future, per Hollywood Reporter:

“Any game from a key third-party that’s coming out now, typically that development started well before any conversations about Nintendo Switch. What happens moving forward? We’ll see. But that’s how you wind up with a situation with Red Dead not being available on our platform.”

All things considered, it would seem that timing was the major issue rather than the hardware of the Nintendo Switch. We have seen some decent ports on the device in these past couple of months. 2016’s Doom was ported to the Nintendo Switch, along with Wolfenstein. Vampyr is another game that is worth mentioning, and how can we forget Skyrim?

Panic Button has mastered the art of porting games to the Nintendo Switch and it will be interesting to see which game the developer ports next.

Let us know what you think about Red Dead Redemption on the Nintendo Switch and whether or not you would be willing to play the game again on the hybrid console.
