This Anthem Short Film Is More of a Live Action Trailer

With the game around the corner, an Anthem short film called Conviction has been released by the director of District 9,  Neil Blomkamp. EA described this as an Anthem short film and we were expecting it to be at least 10 minutes long with ample content but the final result reveals that it is more of a live-action trailer rather than a short film.

While it is clear that a lot of money has been spent on the short film and there are some great moments, one can argue that is is actually a bunch of clips put together rather than a film that has proper flow. We do see different aspects of the game. There is a scene that shows the market in Fort Tarsis. We also get to see what Fort Tarsis looks like from the outside. we see the hub where players go to suit up and we also get a few shots of the open world.

The Anthem short film has some impressive shots of the Javelin suits including the Ranger, Interceptor, Storm and Colossus. We also get to see the antagonist in his own Javelin. There are a couple of shots that feature the Scar forces as well. You can check out the Anthem short film below:

EA is spending a lot of money on marketing Anthem and that is no surprise keeping in mind that this is a new IP. With the game around the corner releasing this short film is a good move but the game has to have content as well. I played the VIP demo and the open demo of the game and while the VIP demo had plenty of issues, the open demo was much better.

Now we have to see what kind of content we have at launch and how appealing the main story of the game is. EA and Bioware do have big plans for Anthem, let’s see what the game will be like at launch.

Let us know what you think about this Anthem short film and whether or not you are interested in playing the game when it releases on February 22nd.
