Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous Is A Kickstarter Project That’s Worth Your Pledge

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a game that was inspired by the Pathfinder tabletop RPG. Now, a second game in the same universe has found funding on Kickstarter (you can see the campaign here) called Pathfinder: Wrath of the righteous. This campaign was fully funded in under 24 hours, showing the huge fanbase that Owlcat Games has, as well as the massive number of fans that the first game has generated. Take a look at the Kickstarter trailer below.

Story

story

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous tells the story of the colossal conflict between mortals and demons. Players will adopt and align themselves with mythic powers through one of a number of Mythic Paths, which will allow them to defeat the Demon Lords themsleves. Owlcat Games have adapted the Mythic Paths feature from the tabletop RPG in order to have a unique take on it with this game. Above all, they’re working to make a unique and enjoyable experience for players, and it certainly seems as though they’re achieving that with the work they’ve done so far.

Gameplay

Here’s the think about Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, every choice affects your character. Players will make decisions throughout the game’s story that will affect the path they end up following, and that will change what their character ultimately becomes. One path will see them become an angel, a warrior that battles to defeat all evil wherever they find it. Another path sees the characters become a king among demons, leading the charge with a huge army of undead to destroy whatever lies before them. The scope for replayability is massive here, as I gather it was in Pathfinder: Kingmaker.

How’s It Looking?

At the time of writing the campaign for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is at almost £1 million. The required amount to make the game was £230,849, so it’s safe to say that has been completely smashed. Along with all this extra money has come a load of stretch goals, new classes, races, and Mythic Paths to follow. The next current stretch goal is another new Race, the Oread, plus Spanish language localisation. There are 21 days still to go on this campaign, and the game is likely to hit even more stretch goals as it goes on. In terms of rewards, there are some pretty special ones on offer as well, including a signed ultimate edition, which is another step above a collectors edition.

This is a guaranteed game for your money. If you enjoyed the first game, then you’ll probably love this one, and should get in while you can. I can see a lot of people, myself included, regretting not getting that signed ultimate edition while it was on offer.
