Cloudpunk – City Of Ghosts Launches This Month

I absolutely love Cloudpunk. It’s one of the few games I’m replaying to try to get the platinum trophy in. It’s got a great story, really enjoyable gameplay, and you can play it without even thinking about it if you want to. I’d actually argue that it’s better than Cyberpunk 2077. It’s a first-person narrative with third-person driving, but it’s all brilliant. This month, on May 25, the game is getting some DLC that’s the size of a full sequel. Needless to say, I can’t wait. The story sounds like it’s just as good as the base game’s, and there’s the added bonus that it’s extended into two characters.

I don’t know the ins and outs of the story just yet. What I do know is that City of Ghosts picks up after the events of the main game. It follows the protagonist of the base game too, but there’s also a second character that players get to control. The stories intertwine, and you get a little bit more closure over the events of the first game as well. I think that it’s going to make for the best DLC of 2021, mainly because everything about Cloudpunk is polished and never seems to get janky.

If you’re after a first-person cyberpunk adventure that works well, then Cloudpunk is definitely the game for you. This sequel of sorts seems to extend the story, and I believe that it’ll change depending on the choices you made in the base game. Given how many of those there are, I can see this sequel being a bit of a mission to get through. However, I also think that it’ll be worth getting through all of that content because there’s never a dull moment in the game. It’s a fascinating world full of fantastic characters to meet. More of that is never a bad thing.

The best part about this is that the DLC is coming at the end of this month. There are even some new features to explore, such as the ability to customise your HOVA. The DLC seems to take everything players loved about the base game and capitalise on it. Something that all developers should be doing.
