Hogwarts Legacy takes place in the Harry Potter universe in the 1800s during the Goblin Rebellion. In the magical world of Hogwarts Legacy, you can brew potions, solve puzzles, tame fantastic beasts, learn new spells, and even dark magic.
Knowing what the game doesn’t teach you will take you much further in this vast world full of things to do and collect. Here are our top eight tips for Hogwarts Legacy.
1. Focus on The Main Storyline First
Focusing on the main story until some point is crucial for progressing the game properly. The reason for this is you will learn the spells you need for certain puzzles, you will get your broom for travel and you can get access to the Requirement Room simply put.
With a broom, you can travel so much faster and get Floo Flames faster. Moreover, you can brew potions, farm plants, and take care of the beasts you collect. In short, the Requirement Room is a great place to generate resources. You should follow this main storyline at least you will get access to the Requirement Room.
2. Use Revelio Frequently
The Revelio charm will help you identify interactive things in your surroundings. So it’s in your best interest to use it continuously, so you can easily find your way and the chests to collect in each area you explore.
Also, you can collect Field Guide Pages only after casting Revelio near them. Moreover, remember that you can also use the Revelio charm on the broom.
3. Collect All The Eye Chests
These Eye Chests are located on the Hogwarts Legacy map. You need to learn Disillusionment Spell before you start collecting them. In the early game, you will need to buy a bunch of tools for your Requirement Room from Tomes and Scrolls shop in Hogsmeade and you need Gold for buying them.
You can get 500 Gold from each chest, and this is an excellent strategy for making money early game. Generally, most of these Eye Chests are located near the Floo Flames so you can get most of them in in a very short time.
4. Breaking an Enemy’s Shield
As you know in Hogwarts Legacy there are different shields with different colors that you can break with certain spells. However, using the right spell is not the only way to break the enemy’s shield.
If the enemy’s shield is red and your red spell is on cooldown or you didn’t learn a red spell yet Ancient Throw is a great way to break shields.
5. Farm Beasts For Money
One of the best ways to make Gold in this game is by farming beasts. After you learn how to catch beasts you can catch easy species like Puffskein. All the animal species can be sold at 120 Gold at Brood and Peck in Hogsmeade.
The best and most efficient way to farm beasts is to find a good spot, and after you catch all the beasts move a little away from the farm spot and fast forward time then return to the spot again to catch them again. You can repeat this process until your Nab-Sack is full.
6. Complete Merlin Trials
Merlin Trials are simple puzzles that increase your gear slot after completion. You can find them on your map or you can come across them while you explore the outside of Hogwarts Castle. Completing these trials in the early game is important because you will have a little gear slot at the beginning of the game.
The more gear slots you have, the more extra money you can earn. Make sure you sell the unwanted gear to the vendors instead of destroying them. To be able to start these puzzles you should have Mallowsweet with you. So planting this plant one or two in your Requirement Room is a good idea.
7. Change Your Appearance
In Hogwarts Legacy, there are a respectable amount of gear and some of them look ugly or they don’t match your other outfit. Even if they look ugly, you may feel you have to wear them because they have good stats.
If you haven’t realized it yet, I have good news for you, you can wear any outfit with good stats and change the appearance of it with the clothes you found before. To change your outfit’s appearance open the menu and hit the Gear tab. After that hover over your cursor to the outfit you want and press the “F” button for PC, the “X” button for Xbox, and the Square button for PlayStation.
8. Invest in Conjuration Spellcraft
Conjuration Spellcraft is very important because they allow you different advantages like automatic beast feeding, automatic random potion brewing, or crafting Moonstones. Also, for example, if you want to farm Fluxweed or Venomous Tantacula you should get a Large Pot because these plants only can be grown in Large Pots.
Investing in these conjurations early on will make you more powerful because you will have access to as many different potions and herbs as you want. You can get these recipes from Tomes and Scrolls shop in Hogsmeade.
