God of War: Ragnarok is the sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War reboot. It was first released for the PS4 and PS5 on 9th November 2022. The game’s plot follows on from its predecessor and serves as a finale to the Norse saga. You once again play as Kratos on an epic quest through all the nine realms mentioned in Norse mythology. Similarly to the previous game in the series, Ragnarok was released to a huge amount of praise. It has an incredible score of 94 out of 100 on Metacritic. As a result, many gamers are wondering whether the game will be coming to PC.
Will God of War: Ragnarok launch on PC?
God of War: Ragnarok is very likely to launch on PC at some point in the future. The game’s predecessor, God of War, launched on the PC in January 2022. As a result, it is very likely that Ragnarok will follow suit and be ported to PC itself at an unspecified point after its original launch on console. Multiple other former PlayStation exclusives have also made their way to PC. This includes The Last of Us Part I and just recently Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. It therefore would be very surprising if God of War: Ragnarok was not to follow this trend in the future.
When will Ragnarok launch on PC?
The game’s predecessor, God of War, first launched on the PS4 in April 2018. There was a nearly 4 year long wait for the game to then see the light of day on the PC. A similar timeframe could be realistic for Ragnarok’s eventual launch as well. There have not been any announcements yet. Therefore, the most likely timeframe for a PC launch seems to be anywhere from 2024 to 2026.
The timeframe between the console launch and PC varies significantly when considering other PlayStation titles. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart launched on steam just over 2 years after it came to PS5. The Last of Us Part 1 took just under 7 months after the initial launch to see a PC release. As a result, it is impossible to give a more precise launch window for God of War: Ragnarok. Only time will tell when it will eventually see the light of day. In the meantime, we can only wait and hope that it launches on PC sooner rather than later.
