Fortnite is always evolving and the developers add new content to keep the players engaged. If you have been out of the loop, you might not know about the new team heat feature. In this article, I go over what team heat is in Fortnite, what it does, and its benefits.
Fortnite: What Is Team Heat?
Team Heat level is not to be confused with infamy ranks since it resets with every game and only affects your current match. Team Heat has four levels donated by four flame icons that you can see on the upper left corner of your screen. It gives you buffs but the catch is that your position is revealed to all the other players in the match. A few ways of increasing your team heat are:
- Killing numerous opponents quickly
- Opening chests
- Opening coffers
- Defeating Cold Blooded bosses
- Engaging Cold Blood enemies
- Answering Burner Pay Phones
What Do The Different Team Heat Levels Do?
You start each match with zero heat and you gain heat levels as you progress through the match depending on your performance. Each team heat level that you gain in Fortnite will give you a buff at the temporary disadvantage of being seen by enemies in the game. The following is a breakdown of the benefits that you gain from each team heat level.
Team Heat Level | Buffs |
Level One | Eliminated enemies drop additional bars. |
Level Two | Increases movement speed by 15%. Regenerate up to 100 health. |
Level Three | Increases movement speed by 20%. Regenerate up to 100 health and 50 shield. |
Level Four | Increases movement speed by 25%. Regenerate up to 100 health and 100 shield. |
With these buffs in mind, you do not need to change the way you play the game unless you are interested in pacifist runs. You can go about killing players and opening chests as you normally would and get the buffs from the team heat levels.
