The Best Poki Games Online: Top 40

When you want to play some games but only have access to a web browser, flash games always have your back. Okay, the term is a bit of a misnomer – but while they may not run on Flash anymore, they are just as fun. Poki Games is one of the more popular sites to play these web games and offers a wide selection of titles. With so many games to play, it is quite easy to get overwhelmed and not know which games are any good. That’s why we have a list of the 20 (update: 40!) best games that you can play right now on Poki Games.

40. The Impossible Quiz

The Impossible quiz if one of the best games to give you an “it was so obvious” moment when you get a question wrong. This long quiz is full of questions where the answer is quite obvious once you know what it is, but just looking at the question can leave you quite stumped. While the gameplay offered it nothing extraordinary, it is quite the way to kill a bit of time and have a good laugh at yourself or someone else’s expense.

39. Crossy Road

Frogger has always been a fun pass time and Crossy Road brings back that gameplay loop in a voxel style. With never-ending levels and the only unlockables being cosmetic, the game may seem like something that you will be bored of in 5 minutes. The real draw is wanting to go further and see just how good you are.

38. Apple Knight

A cute 2-D side-scrolling adventure game is a majority of what you will find when looking for flash games. Apple Knight fits snuggly in this genre of game with it’s simple design and simpler gameplay. You might not be blown away by most of what the game has to offer but if you are a fan of medevil themed games like Shovel Knight, then Apple Knight is sure to please.

37. Duck Life

Duck Life is a classic in the simulation genre for flash games. You’re simply tasked with raising a duck to be the best racer it can be. You do this by training up your duck’s ability to run, swim, and fly to beat the competition. Quite a simple concept, but in order to be the very best racer, you will have to grind hard or learn some cheeky tricks to stay ahead.

36. Craftomation 2

A blend of puzzle games and basic coding knowledge, Craftomation 2 has your connecting boxes of code to issue commands to your robot. With the goal of the game being to complete tasks with as few steps as possible. Although it might first seem easy, later stages of the game will have you needing to complete more complex tasks. Forcing you to find a more efficient method to complete basic tasks.

35. Pixel Realms

If you have every wanted to play Forager on the go then Pixel Realms is right up your alley. The game offers a calm gameplay loop of harvesting resources and spending those to unlock more sections of your map to harvest more resources or upgrade your harvesting methods. While you can’t really speed up progression, Pixel Realms is a great relaxing game to grind out and slowly progress through.

34. Space Thing

Space Thing is a throwback to classic NES games. No fancy gimmicks or tricks, just simple 2D platforming gameplay with a Sci-FI theme. A quick and easy game that relies on your own skill to clear it. If you want a nostalgia trip or are a fan of pixel art games then Space Thing is sure to satisfy you.

33. Space Major Miner

Another Sci-Fi game but this one has more substance to it. Similar in vein to games like Motherload, Space Major Miner has you exploring underground on asteroids for crystals to power up your ship. While you can just blitz through each level right to the marked crystal, you will be better off if you stop and collect other resources to upgrade your character. Later levels have you going up against alien life which can quickly kill your character and send you back to the start.

32. Super Hot Prototype

If you have never heard of Super Hot then you are missing out. An FPS game were time only moves when you do. This turns simple shootouts into puzzles where each of your moves needs to be calculated if you want to come out on top. While the game only features a handful of levels compared to the PC version of Super Hot, being able to play the game at all in a browser is impressive.

31. Friday Night Funkin’

While Dance Dance Revolution in a flash game is nothing new, Friday Night Funkin managed to capture everyone’s attention with it’s battle gameplay design. Instead of going for a high score, you must parrot back what your rival is doing in order to clear each stage. This gives you time in the middle of a song to focus less on what keys you are hitting and instead focus on what keys you will need to hit by watching what your opponent does.

30. Stickman Climb 2

While playing a game like Getting Over It might not seem like a relaxing time, Stickman Climb 2 manages to balance difficulty with fun to create an enjoyable experience for many. The game trades out the goal of climbing to the top of a mountain to reach a simple end flag with a few obstacles in the way. This lowers the difficulty while still providing a bit of a challenge. It also features a 2-Player mode so you can bring someone else in on the fun.

29. Escaping The Prison

The Henry Stickman franchise has a long and strangely connected story with each instalment adding to it in its own way. Escaping the Prison is the second game to come out and features not only a full reacap to catch you up on the story but almost an hour of funny cutscene and plenty of tragic ways to fail.

28. Ragdoll Hit

A fun physics-based fighting game is sure to easily kill time and Ragdoll Hit fills that need. While you have little control over what your stickman will do, the creative ways you can take out your opponents is endless. Simple pick a weapon to use and flail your arms around until you are the last stickman standing.

27. Fortz

While shared keyboard multiplayer games have never really been super popular, Fortz is a diamond in the rough. Both players are given symmetrical basses with multiple floors and weapons to try to blow up the other player’s base and defeat them. However you can’t just spam fire until one side is dead. You will have to venture out of cover in order to pick up reload power-ups as well as other power-ups that are dropped randomly during the match.

26. Apple Knight Golf

While the original is ranked a bit lower on the list, Apple Knight Golf flips the whole game on its head by adding golf to the mix. 2-D golf games can be quite interesting since you have multi-leveled holes, but Apple Knight Golf adds another objective than to simply get the apple into the hole, you must kill all the enemies in a level before the hole opens. This turns the levels into more of a puzzle on how you can hit all the enemies in one stroke and still get in the hole.

25. Jetpack Joyride

Another classic for anyone who grew up with an iPod touch. Jetpack Joyride is one of the earlier Infinite Runner games to come out and is still a solid option even today. What really allows Jetpack Joyride to make a name for itself in the scene is the addition of super vehicles to use. Changing up how you played while also giving you an extra life to use.

24. Energy

A simple minimalist puzzle game that has you connecting lights to energy sources. All you can do in a stage is rotate each object to make them all connect up and provide power. While it may sound simple, it makes the later stages much harder as you will need to think outside the box to solve them.

23. We Become What We Behold

While this is more of an experience than it game, We Become What We Behold is something that everyone should experience at least once. This short flash adventure speaks on the social commentary of how easily people can be manipulated by what they are shown even if it is not true.

22. Bloons Tower Defense

Bringing back to the early days of flash games, we have the original Bloons Tower Defense. Many of you have probably played one of the sequels or spin-off games but this is the one that started it all. The game is quite simple featuring a single map and only a handful of towers with two upgrade paths. While there are newer and more advanced tower defense games out there, sometimes it is nice to go back to a classic and relax.

21. Raft Wars

While you can’t play a full-fledged W.O.R.Ms game in your browser, Raft Wars does offer a close alternative to one. The gameplay is quite simple as all you need to do is pick the angle and power of your shot. The fun comes from the funny physics moments that you can make when you knock one enemy into another and get two kills for the price of one.

20. Retro Bowl College

A throwback to the retro sports game back on the Nintendo Entertainment System, Retro Bowl College offers the best football experience you can hope to have in a browser game. While it may not offer the career modes you expect out of the latest Madden games, it still provides classic football gameplay in a retro pixel art style.

19. Stick Merge

Stick Merge

We have all seen the merge mobile games where you combine two of the same units in order to get stronger units. Stick Merge takes this concept and adds idle game mechanics by having your higher-tier weapons generate more money per second. You can then take these weapons out to a firing range to clear a shooting challenge and earn more powerful weapons.

18. Gladihoppers

Gladihoppers

A unique twist on a 2-D fighting game since, as the title suggests, you can only move around the arena by hopping. Outside of this twist, it is quite a simple gladiatorial combat game with you being able to switch between a high and low stance and attack in different ways with the arrow keys. It does offer quite a bit of content for a browser game since it features a full career mode alongside a couple of other challenge modes and even the option for multiplayer.

17. Temple Run 2

Temple Run 2

The sequel to a classic game anyone with an old iPod would remember. The original Infinite Runner game offers not too much new content this time around. The gameplay is quite similar to what you would expect and can be quite easily outclassed by newer Infinite Runner games. But if you are in the mood for a simpler game that can bring out some nostalgia, look no further than this.

16. Combat Online

Combat Online

Combat Online is a very advanced browser game as it offers a full FPS experience. Similarly to Counter Strike, you get some asch and use it to buy weapons which will net you more cash on kills. It is also a fully online browser game so you are playing with real players at all times. The only reason this game is not higher on the list is because it seems to be a bit hit or miss on how well it runs. At times it can run flawlessly but at other times it is practically unplayable with how low the framerate can be.

15. Murder

Murder - Poki

It’s good to be king and in this game, you will do anything it takes to be one. The first portion of Murder has you following the king as one of his loyal advisors while you secretly charge up your knife to kill him and take his place. Once you manage to do so, you then become the king and must survive by using your past experience to know when to turn around on someone trying to kill you.

14. Rainbow Obby

Rainbow Obby

Anyone who grew up playing Roblox will remember the classic Obby games where you had to climb to the top of the course in the fastest time possible. Rainbow Obby seeks to recreate that experience in a browser game. While it may seem like a simple game at first, the further you get in the course the more difficult the jumps and platforming will become. You can challenge yourself to beat a set time or even invite friends to a private room to race against each other.

13. Rotate

Rotate

A fun little puzzle game where you need to get your character to the door in each level by not only platforming but by rotating the whole level. Quite a simple game on the surface but some of the later levels will require precise timing and positioning in order to complete.

12. Red Ball 4

An action platforming game with quite a detailed physics system. You play as the red ball, with your goal being to reach the opposite end of each stage by any means. This will have you using crates and solving small physics puzzles to open or create paths for yourself. Even if you have not played the previous Red Ball games, you won’t feel left behind if you were to jump in with this one.

11. Idle Breakout

Idle Breakout

No game list is complete without a nice idle game to sink some time into and Idle Breakout provides just that. Each stage consists of bricks of varying health that either need to be clicked or hit by a ball in order to break. While the game starts out with you clicking on most of the bricks to clear the stage, you will soon have quite a satisfying sight on your hands as the various ball types you buy will bounce around and clear the stage for you.

10. 2048

2048 - Poki

A true classic for anyone who wanted a fun brain teaser a few years ago. While most puzzle fanatics play Wordle to pass the time, 2048 is sure to offer quite a challenge for most players. There are plenty of methods you can use in order to achieve the coveted 2048 cube in the game, but just going in blind and trying your own strategy to go for the highest score you can is always a fun time.

9. Cozy Room Designer

Cozy Room Designer

While it might not feature the most action-packed gameplay out of all the games on this list, Cozy Room Designer is a comfy game to relax with as you build up your dream room. Play around with different layout options and create an aesthetically pleasing room for yourself or try to make the themed room of your dreams.

8. Level Devil

Level Devil

Anyone who has seen the early 2000s games like “I Want To Be The Guy” will have probably not fond memories of playing the game for themselves and getting frustrated with all of the traps and trolls that the game threw at them. Level Devil seeks to recapture this feeling by being a simple design troll platforming game. The spike will regularly move to be under you when you make a jump and random pitfalls will have you plunging to your death more times than you can count. But if you are looking for a difficult game to master then look no further.

7. Papa’s Franchise Games

Papa's Franchise Games

There are so many different versions of Papa’s games that it is impossible to pick just one to be the best. It comes down to which flavor or food of the day you are looking to serve up. Be it pizza or smoothies, there is most likely a Papa’s restaurant that needs you to fill in and make those wacky orders in a timely fashion.

6. Snake Vs Worms

The .IO game craze brought us a lot of interesting takes on a simple concept and it is great to see some of the ideas still floating around and expanded on. Snake Vs Worms starts out simple with you being placed on a board and needing to grab food to grow until you are big enough to eat the other snakes on the board. While this is where the .IO version of the game ended, this version features a neat upgrade system for you to spend your coins on when you inevitably get eaten yourself.

5. Blockpost

Block Post

Blockpost is probably one of the best browser FPS experiences you can find on Poki Games since it not only runs well but emulates the Counter Strike playstyle quite well. Blockpost offers a few different game modes for you to play and a decent arsenal of weapons to choose from. Just make sure you are on the right servers for your region before joining a game as the lag compensation is terrible.

4. Vectaria

Vectaria

If you are looking for a Minecraft experience in your browser, then Vectaria is sure to have what you want. For a browser game, it is quite extensive as it offers a full survival mode featuring crafting and hunger mechanics which is more than the original Minecraft alpha offered when it was free in browser. Vectaria also has the classic creative modes that you would expect out of a Minecraft clone. But the real shocker is that the game seems to feature full multiplay support, granted you will need to make an account to save your progress but you should be able to play Vectaria with friends if you want.

3. Age of War

Age of War

A true classic for anyone who grew up playing flash games, Age of War is a simple wave defense game where your whole goal is to send out units and destroy your opponent’s base across the field from you. You gain funds by having your units kill the opponent’s units and you can spend your cash on better units or base upgrades to help you survive. The appealing part of Age of War is the fact that you can either speedrun the game and try to kill your opponent in the starting stone age, or play out the long con and fight all the way up to the Sci-Fi age where you have strong mechs that lay siege to all other units.

2. Subway Surfers

Subway surfers characters

A phone game classic and one of the most well-known Infinite Runner games is always a welcome time killer if you only have access to a browser. While it may not feature the progression saving that you can expect on the phone versions of Subway Surfers, it still provides a good bit of entertainment if you need something to focus on. What sets apart Subway Surfers from Temple Run is the different layers that you can manage to get onto and how they change the overall gameplay just enough. Being on the top has you running on wires, while being on top of the subways will have you jumping from train car to train car to stay up. Then you have the basic on-the-ground running where you need to dodge the train cars you were previously running on as well as other obstacles like road blockers.

1. Watermelon Drop

Suika Game took the nation by storm when it was released on the Nintendo Switch and now you can experience the gameplay in your browser. While this is not an official release of Suika Game it does feature the same gameplay but with different food items instead of the fruit. Similarly to 2048, you need to combine two of the same food items to increase them up a tier and make larger and larger fruit until you get the coveted watermelon. The difficulty comes from the fact that the game is physics-based, so the food moves around and bumps into each other. This makes getting the smaller items to touch quite the pain once you have some of the larger items on the field. You want to get as many watermelons as possible before the highest food item touches the line you are dropping items from.
