Does Space Marine 2 Support Crossplay?
In an interview with GameWatcher, Creative Director Oliver Hollis-Leick confirmed that Space Marine 2 will support crossplay on launch day itself. Players will be able to play with friends across PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, as cross-platform play will be enabled across all available platforms the game launches on.
The game will feature a co-op mode of up to three players, and fans can team up to play cross-platform regardless of PC and console.
However, the game won’t have offline couch co-op but online-only multiplayer. The campaign for Space Marine 2, can, however, be played offline and takes about 10-12 hours for an average player to complete. The game doesn’t require any previous knowledge of the previous game as it is a completely fresh story on its own, with recurring characters from the first installment.
Set in Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40k universe, players suit as Space Marines in the 41st Millennium and battle against increasing swarms of Tyranids and other monsters. Besides, the game will have over 6 classes to choose from, and the game will feature distinct multiplayer game modes.
The sequel to 2011’s Space Marine launches on Monday, September 9. Fans who purchase the Space Marine 2 Gold Edition and Epic Edition will be able to play this game on early access 4 days before launch.
Space Marine 2 will be available to play on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows.
