Black Myth: Wukong emerged to be a breakout hit on Steam, and has reached as the second-most played game of all time on the platform, overtaking Palworld and Counter Strike 2. The single-player adventure by Game Science was able to achieve this incredible feat just within a few days of launch.
Completing a quest for Xu Dog will unlock the ability to craft medicines, and also Celestial Medicines, a superior kind of medicine can later be unlocked completing quests. This article details the steps required to be able to craft medicine in Black Myth: Wukong.
How to Craft Medicines in Black Myth: Wukong
Medicines aren’t like other consumables, they offer temporary and permanent stat boosts in the game. The base normal medicine gives you a temporary stat boost, and the superior kind, Celestial Medicine gives you a permanent increase in stats.
At the beginning of Chapter 2 in the game, you need to locate the Village Entrance Keeper’s Shrine in Sandgate Village. Go down from the wooden bridge and locate Xu Dog in a cave.
The cave will have painted pictures of foxes in it’s entrance. Interact with Xu Dog, and he will ask you to begin a quest which requires you to defeat Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw, a frog boss who has swallowed the medicinal formulas.
The frog boss has the same move-set of Chapter 1 boss Baw-Li-Guhh-Kang, making it easier to kill and predict its moves. Only difference is that this frog boss strikes electric attacks, and you have to be a little careful to not allow them to deal damage using lightning strikes. The boss is not too difficult to defeat, as it has very little health and can be taken down using multiple spells.
After defeating Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw, you’ll receive the Evil Repelling Medicament formula. This formula will allow you to craft medicines now. Go back to Xu Dog and hand him the formula, and you would have now unlocked the ability to craft medicines now. The materials vary for each Medicine you want to craft, but you have to find recipes for each item first by either finding them in the world or buying them from Xu Dog. You can now craft medicines at Shrines using the pills and recipes given to you by Xu Dog.
