This guide details how to get onions in Once Human. Onions on their own aren’t of much value in the game besides offering your character with Health and Energy, as they can maintain the hunger levels. They do, however, evolve into a Deviant called the Grumpy Bulb.
How to Get Onions in Once Human
Onions in Once Human aren’t usually found in the wild, and you need to purchase them from Emma Potter. Emma is located at the Tall Grass Inn. You’ll find Emma right besides the building opposite to the Sandwich Shop. The Tall Grass Inn is located in the eastern part of the Chalk Peak region. Chances to find an onion in the wild are very slim, so the easiest way is to purchase them from Emma using Energy Links. However, since the vendor sells seeds, you need to cultivate onions on your territory planter boxes, and this will remove the need to purchase onions later on. Emma can only sell three onion seeds once every week.
Besides onion seeds, Emma sells Long-acting activator, Masala, roasted pumpkin, fruit trees and other decorative items such as Vintage Patterned Fabric, a Geometric Ceiling and more. However, fans should notice that they can purchase three onion seeds from Emma at a time. One batch of Onion Seeds costs 1000 Energy links in the game. You need to purchase the seeds from Emma and head to your Territory.
Plant the seeds in the planter boxes inside the territory and wait. The onions themselves aren’t of much value besides food, so you need to keep on cultivating onions until one of them mutates into a Grumpy Bulb deviant. It will take some time for the seed to mature into an onion, and you can then find out whether it’s just a normal onion or a grumpy bulb. Plant more seeds to increase your chances of securing the Deviant.
For a higher chance to secure the Grumpy Bulb Deviant in once human, craft mutated fertiliser in the compost box first and use it in your onion planter boxes. The Grumpy Bulb Deviant participates in combat to “disrupt enemy threat, making them attack each other”
