Bangboo Tier List for Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero billy and character bangboo

The Bangboo tier list we have curated represents the best choices for players to the not-so-great. Zenless Zone Zero features an array of these characters and they can assist in completing the commissions. However, making the right choice in which ones are the best to take can be important. Zenless Zone Zero is a gacha game, meaning that the investment into a bangboo whether by grinding or real money is important. Rather than making a choice that could come back to not help in future missions, it is best to know right away which bangboo to go after.

S-Tier

The S-Tier characters provide the best overall choices for players overall. Some provide fantastic survivability to players, while others due massive damage to foes in battle. The Bangboos below are the ones that players ultimately need to search for while playing.

  • Avocaboo: For players looking for a Bangboo to heal, the Avocaboo is the ultimate choice. It can heal your agents which is always needed, especially as none in the game currently are a support.
  • Bangolver: Many of the agents in Zenless Zone Zero are physical attackers. Therefore, taking in a Bangolver is good because having 2 or more allows for chain attacks to deal 100% Anomaly Damage. Because of this, players will earn their team’s Assault Anomaly often and can dispatch enemies quickly.
  • Butler: The Butler bangboo is another top-tier choice due to its ability to regenerate energy quickly. Players with Butler will be able to initiate their agent’s skills more than average, making it a deadly combo for fights.
  • Magnetiboo: Magnetiboo’s active skill of pulling enemies in and dealing Physical DMG in the process is huge, especially when fighting groups of foes. A great choice for almost any agent team.
  • Paperboo: Having a Paperboo is an optimal choice for survivability. While it doesn’t heal, it can provide shields to the entire team which can help in any fight and is always welcome.

A-Tier

The A-Tier Bangboos are great choices for players. However, they are very situational as players must build teams around them. Whether an all-ether or any other elemental team up. While strong, this characteristic limits them in a capacity.

  • Exploreboo: The Exploreboo provides various survivability mechanics to agents. From healing, shields, or regenerating energy. However, it is done by chance using its Active Skill which can be great or not-so-good for combat.
  • Luckyboo: Although the Luckyboo offers the same ability as Bangolver, it does so at a lesser value. Furthermore, it is better to take a Bangolver, especially with Luckyboo being rare to get as it is an event offering.
  • Plugboo: Players looking to create an all-electric team can look no further than Plugboo. Its Active Skill boosts Anomaly Damage if there are 2 or more Electric Attribute characters. Furthermore, it can cast electric chain attacks amongst foes.
  • Resonaboo: The Resonaboo is good for players looking to create an ether-focused team. Its Mini-Black Hole skill is good for pulling in enemies while dealing Ether damage.
  • Rocketboo: Choosing Rocketboo is for players looking to mainly focus on fire-oriented teams. Therefore, pairing the Bangboo with agents like Ben, Lucy, Koleda, and Soldier 11 is highly recommended.
  • Sharkboo: Ice-focused players will thrive with Sharkboo. The Drylands Shark Hunt skill deals great Ice damage and builds up Ice Anomaly as well. Players should look to picking characters like Ellen, Lycaon, and Soukaku to create big Ice damage-dealing opportunities.

Zenless Zone Zero combat gameplay

B-Tier

The B-Tier choices in this bangboo tier list for Zenless Zone Zero offer great abilities. However, they are limited by only being fully useful when paired with appropriate agents. Therefore, players will need to select agents of one faction for them, thereby limiting the choice of favorite characters.

  • Amillion: The Amillion Bangboo is focused directly on benefitting just Cunning Hares characters. While its benefit of more attack damage is good for chain attacks, its selectiveness has other Bangboos perform better.
  • Booressure: While Booressure is good for replenishing energy to inactive characters, this is its best trait. Players can benefit greatly from having a Butler on their team. However, if you do not have it yet, the Booressure is still a decent option for your team comp.
  • Officer Cui: Cui deals Physical Damage by biting and tearing enemies. However, it is another selective character. As it truly only benefits from having 2 or more Criminal Investigation Special Response Team members in the lineup. If so, the additional ability offers a 50% chance for a follow-up bite attack to activate. However, the chance mixed with the mediocre ability makes it an average Bangboo to use.
  • Safety: The Safety Bangboo is like others in the bangboo tier list. It works well for players using Belobog Industry agents. Although it deals Physical Damage with its drill attack, it is better to have 2 or more Industry characters as damage is increased by 20% for the team. But if players do not wish to use the faction, they have less need for this choice.

C-Tier

The C-Tier group of Bangboos in the tier list provides elemental-focused attacks. Players wanting to build around specifics like Fire or Ice benefit from these characters. But, they are essentially the lesser versions of those in A-Tier and are the best options for players who don’t have the above Bangboos.

  • Cryboo: Cryboo should only be used for players wanting to have a fire-based build and do not have any other options. Its active skill throws a bomb at a target, dealing Fire Damage and causing Fire Anomaly buildup. Its additional ability offers the same effect as Rocketboo but at a lower tier. If players only have Cryboo and wish to use Fire, this is the only choice.
  • Devilboo: This Bangboo creates Ether Damage with its attacks, very similar to Resonaboo. The Active Skill is useful as it shoots homing bullets that deal Ether to the target. However, with the game’s roster only having two characters with Ether (Zhu Yuan and Nicole) it is a limited element to use and therefore, limits Devilboo’s usefulness.
  • Electroboo: Players wanting to use an Electric-focused team can look to Electroboo. However, keep in mind its attacks are weaker than its Plugboo and should only be utilized if you don’t have Plugboo yet. It deals consistent Electric damage with its Active Skill and chain attacks, as long as players have two or more Electric Attribute agents.
  • Penguinboo: Penguinboo allows players to take down foes with Ice Damage thanks to its Iceblade Dance skill. Additionally, it can deal 60% more Ice Damage through its chain attack if players have multiple Ice Attribute agents. However, with Sharkboo providing all of the above and with more potential, Penguinboo is best for newer players who do not have Sharkboo yet.

D-Tier

D-Tier is the weakest group of Bangboos for players to use in Zenless Zone Zero. Many of their abilities and benefits are lacking in comparison to their peers in the upper tiers. Players should mainly be using these in the specific situations they benefit from or if they have no other options in their roster.

  • Bagboo: The Bagboo character provides Physical Damage with its blades and its chain attack if there is an Attack character. However, the stats of these attacks are minimal compared to others like Safety. Should only be used as a last resort.
  • Boollseye: Boollseye functions similarly to Bagboo. But rather than working with an Attack character, it benefits from a Pierce-type. Although, like Bagboo, its damage stats are not notable enough for it to be a worthwhile pick for your lineup.
  • Sumoboo: Players should be only picking Sumoboo if they have Stun-focused characters. Its primary skill provides Daze damage to attacks. However, other characters also provide the same benefits as Stun but with better potency.

That is all of the choices in our Bangboo tier list for Zenless Zone Zero. The gameplay features intense combat and picking the right Bangboos can help greatly with blasting through enemies.
