How to Repair Districts in Frostpunk 2

How to Repair Districts in Frostpunk 2

Since Frostpunk 2 is based in an icy wasteland, it is common for things to break down. Your districts can stop working but you can fix that. Here is how you can repair districts in Frostpunk 2.

If a district needs repairs then you will see a red mark on top of it. If you do not repair a district and it wears out completely, it will stop functioning, which can be serious since people can start freezing to death.

Repairing Wearing Out Districts in Frostpunk 2

To repair districts that are wearing out in Frostpunk 2, you can click on them and look at the bar underneath the box. You will find a small wrench repair icon. Hover the cursor over this icon to see the required prefabs you need to repair the district.

If you have enough prefabs then you can clock on the icon and the district will start repairing.

How to Repair Districts in Frostpunk 2

If your districts are breaking down then you might have a squalor problem. There are different reasons why you might have this problem but a major one is the placement of your housing district next to an industrial district, extraction district, or similar. If that is the case then you might be better off building a new district and demolishing the current one.

District Placement Tips

Take Advantage of the Adjacency Bonuses

Placing two districts in such a way that three tiles of the districts touch one another, you can take advantage of the adjacency bonus. Placing two housing districts next to one another will reduce the heat requirement from 40 to 20. This will also reduce the amount of fuel needed.

District Placement Tips

Pairing up your districts in such a way will help you take advantage of the adjacency bonus, which gives you additional modifiers. Such as the 20 heat from being near a housing district.

Build Districts in a Curve

Building districts in a curve will allow you to give the adjacency bonus to three adjacent districts rather than two.

District Placement Tips

This will allow you to get the +20 heat modifier twice. Using this placement you can build three districts and ensure that each district is touching two other districts. A +20 heat buff can be huge and will save you a lot of fuel.

Which Districts Work With One Another

Not all districts can be built next to each other. Building a housing or food district next to an extraction district results in a negative squalor debuff alongside the heat buff.  You want to avoid squalor since it increases the maintenance requirement as well as disease and tension in your population.

To take advantage of the heat buff without getting the negative squalor debuff you can build an industrial district next to the extraction district. Similarly, you can also build the logistics district. You can think of the industrial, extraction, and logistics districts as one group, and the housing and food districts as a separate group.
