Since Sifu is a roguelike, it is challenging to progress. So you want to save your progress as often as you can. Since Sifu does not have a manual save option, players need to rely on the autosave feature. This can be called a design choice to keep players from “cheating”. In this guide, I go over how you can save your game progress in Sifu.
Save Your Game In Sifu
In Sifu, your progress is saved at regular intervals. So, if you leave the game and need to come back later, you will not lose much progress.
Once you have completed a level, anything that you have found that goes on the message board is kept. So when you replay levels you can skip through large portions of them. This allows you to replay the previous levels and reach higher levels at a younger age.
Save Exploit (PS4 And PS5)
There is a save exploit that you can use on PS4 and PS5 if you are having a hard time getting through the game. For this to work you will need a PS Plus subscription or a USB drive. Once you are at a checkpoint where you feel comfortable, such as before a boss fight. You can quit to the main menu and then quit out of the game completely.
Now open settings and then Save Data and Game/App Settings. If you are using a PS5 then you will need to select PS4 or PS5 saved data. After that select console storage. Navigate to Sifu and then select the upload button. Select yes when asked to overwrite the current save file.
You can now jump back into the game and play it as you normally would. If you don’t perform as you would have liked then you will want to download the save file that you uploaded using the steps mentioned above. You can download the save file by going to the PS home screen and heading into settings. Select Save Data and Game/App Settings and choose the platform that you are using (PS4 or PS5). Select Cloud Storage option and find Sifu. After that select download.
Head back into the game and continue from the main menu. This will put you back to the point where you saved and uploaded the saved file to the cloud.
All things considered, you don’t need to worry about saving in Sifu. The game will save your progress and you can return and continue where you left off from the main menu. If you want to be certain that none of your progress is wasted then you should leave the game once you are at your hideout during the different levels.
This is what you need to know about how you can save your game progress in Sifu.
