LA Noire 2 Now Possible With New Rockstar Acquisition

LA Noire 2 Now Possible With New Rockstar Acquisition

If you don’t quite remember Team Bondi, let me refresh your memory: they’re the studio known for developing Rockstar’s critically-acclaimed LA Noire. The detective story was a hit, which allowed for people to become more aware of the horrific working conditions that employees of the studio were unveiling. Eventually, the studio was liquidated and founder Brendan McNamara went on to found Video Games Deluxe. Interestingly enough, the studio has worked with Rockstar to develop titles like the remaster of LA Noire, LA Noire: The VR Case File and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition.

However, in that time, they only worked closely with the AAA studio. Now, Video Games Delixe is being acquired by Rockstar, which could very well mean that fans of the detective drama might be in for a sequel. Of course, there has been no official rumblings about that on the horizon, but those working within the acquisition are excited for what’s to come.

“It’s been an honor to work closely with Rockstar Games this past decade. We are thrilled to be a part of Rockstar Games and to continue our efforts to make the best games possible.” – Brendan McNamara

Shortly after the release of LA Noire, when Team Bondi was hit with the poor workplace allegations, McNamara found it challenging to find any publishers, and the studio closed. Fortunately, it appears that Rockstar still has a good relationship with him, and wants to continue to foster it. The studio, which is being renamed Rockstar Australia, was welcomed with open arms by the parent company.

“After working together closely over many years, we are excited to have Video Games Deluxe join the team as Rockstar Australia,” – Rockstar Games Head of Publishing, Jennifer Kolbe.

It’s exciting to know that Rockstar likely has a whole slew of announcement coming that will likely ride on the coattails of Grand Theft Auto 6. But, for a developer that hardly ever misses when it comes to quality games, it’s only expected.
