A few days back, it was discovered that Insomniac Games’ entire VR catalogue had vanished. Today, Insomniac Games posted on social media that they’ve made three of the four delisted games available again on the Meta Store. The company is actively working to bring the fourth one live.

The titles in question are The Unspoken, Stormland, Nowhere, and Feral Rites, released between 2016 and 2019. All four games were developed with funding by Meta and were exclusively available on the Oculus Store.
The industry expert who first reported the removals also said that the delistings happened months ago—it’s just that no one had noticed. This raised discussions among the gaming community about the current state of VR, with some gamers seeing this as a sign of the medium’s demise.
One developer pointed out Meta’s finicky and constantly changing listing guidelines. They suggested the delisting may have happened due to the titles failing to adhere to new rules in the guidelines.
This isn’t the first time Insomniac’s VR games have been removed from Meta’s storefront. Back in 2023, Stormland was made temporarily unavailable for purchase on the Oculus Store. The game was eventually relisted.
Sony acquired Insomniac Games, best known for its Ratchet and Clank series, back in 2019. The acquisition, which happened in August, preceded Stormland‘s November launch by only a few months. This led some to believe the acquisition was intended to expand Sony’s library of virtual reality titles.
This hasn’t proven to be the case so far. Stormland, which came out in 2019, was Insomniac’s last VR title. With the studio currently hard at work on a new superhero game starring Wolverine, we probably won’t see another VR game from them in a while.
