There may finally be concrete evidence that Starfield is coming to PS5. In a Reddit post, user u/Dollar99Man shared a screenshot that has been making the rounds on gaming forums showing a Starfield Creation listed as available for PlayStation. This is the first time a Creation has been listed with the PlayStation logo, sparking rumors that a PS5 release is coming sooner rather than later.

“Creations” are what Bethesda calls mods for Starfield and includes both official and community-made content listed under the “Creations” menu in game. The Creation in question is “WIP – Ship Decals” by user ValleysEdge, and the mod’s description simply states “This is a work in progress.” Only mods created using the official Creation Kit can be listed as a Creation, meaning the PlayStation logo was added to the game’s official mod development tools.

The WIP – Ship Decals mod has since been delisted.
Gossip around a PS5 launch has been percolating for two years, now—since Microsoft announced Project Latitude, the initiative to gradually bring Microsoft titles to multiple platforms, including Sony consoles. Lately, discussions have been more “when” rather than “if”, so the logo spotting has been met with a sense of inevitability, rather than shock and disbelief.
Something similar has happened before. Previously, eagle-eyed gamers found a PlayStation logo hidden amongst content for Sea of Thieves ahead of its 2024 release for consoles. Like Starfield, Sea of Thieves is developed by a Microsoft subsidiary. The multiplayer pirate sim was brought to PlayStation 5 as one of the first titles affected by Project Latitude. The similarities between both cases of spotted PlayStation logos is being seen as quiet confirmation that Starfield is coming to PS5.
Several titles produced by Microsoft and its subsidiaries have since been confirmed to be launching on PlayStation 5, including Doom: The Dark Ages, Forza Horizon 5, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Ninja Gaiden 4. Recently, rumors have been building that two of Xbox’s most iconic franchises, Halo and Gears of War, will release on PS5.
Starfield was originally set to come out for Sony’s console before Microsoft purchased the game’s developer, Bethesda, in an eleventh-hour maneuver to secure the much-anticipated space RPG as an Xbox exclusive.
