I feel as though it’s been long overdue for Five Nights at Freddy’s to make an appearance in one of the greatest horror games of all time, Dead By Daylight. Now, players can play as a brand new killer, Springtrap, courtesy of the all-seeing Entity.
Five Nights at Freddy’s is a series of games that center around the titular character, Freddy Fazbear, the people directly around him, and the restaurant where it all began. One of the most prolific characters in the game is Springtrap, a yellow, animatronic rabbit with a sense of death. He enters the Fog on invitation by the Entity, and finds his way toward the sound of laughing Survivors who are unaware of the terrors that lie ahead.
Springtrap’s introduction to Dead By Daylight also brings other new features including Security Doors and Security Rooms. Security Doors entered by Springtrap allow him to instantly exit any other door and even perform an instant grab attack to scare Survivors. For Survivors, entering a Security Room allows them to cycle through the cameras around the map. Springtrap also has three perks that can bring additional gameplay value. These include:
- Help Wanted – Compromise a generator that’s nearly complete.
- Phantom Fear – Scare Survivors who come near Springtrap.
- Haywire – Elevates Endgame stakes.
Of course, not everything is rainbows and birthday parties. Speed and mobility when challenging Springtrap are of the utmost importance, with Survivors in Security Rooms having a significant advantage. I guess you’ll need to just check out Springtrap’s gameplay for yourself!
Dead by Daylight is available to be played on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.
