Complete Rainbow Six Siege Marketplace Guide

Rainbow Six Siege group shot of all characters

Rainbow Six Siege has various weapons and operators that players can use, but, like most other competitive FPS games, customization and personalization play huge roles in player immersion. The game lets players acquire and use various operator skins, weapon camos, and other cosmetic customizations.

While not as popular as the CS2 one, Rainbow Six Siege’s in-game economy and official marketplace let players buy and sell skins for the in-game currency. It’s smart to know how to navigate the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace before participating in it, especially since the shown prices may be deceiving.

What is the Rainbow Six Siege Marketplace?

Rainbow Six Siege marketplace

The Rainbow Six Siege marketplace is the in-game bazaar where players can buy or sell their skins. The marketplace is an interesting element that makes the gameplay experience more engaging while letting you customize your operators and weapons according to your tastes.

Buying skins in the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace requires the premium Rainbow Six Siege currency called R6 Credits, and selling skins in the marketplace gets you that same currency. Players can use these credits to purchase more skins and cosmetics, rotating them into the in-game economy.

While selling skins you got by opening free in-game packs is a good way to get R6 credits for free, it isn’t the only way. The most common method to get R6 Credits is by using real-life money to buy the currency from the in-game or Ubisoft Store.

The R6S market’s biggest appeal for most players is the ability to acquire skins that aren’t available to buy in the game anymore. For example, if a player wants Crossfader, which is a seasonal skin that was acquirable through Renown for a limited time in the game, then they can just buy it from another player in the marketplace. On the other hand, a player who has the skin but doesn’t use it can sell it for a hefty amount and use the Credits they get to buy skins they’ll use.

How Does the Rainbow Six Siege Marketplace Work?

Transactions in the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace

Players must meet certain requirements to be eligible to use the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace. Firstly, players must have at least a level 25 in-game level and have two-factor authentication enabled on their Ubisoft account. Players must also complete a match in any game mode that grants XP to verify eligibility. If a player has an in-game or Ubisoft account penalty or restriction, they’ll be restricted from using the marketplace.

If you meet the requirements, then accessing and using the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace is fairly straightforward.

The first step is to go to the official Rainbow Six Siege marketplace website. The marketplace is only accessible from a browser and not from the in-game client. After that, log in to your account. From here, you’ll see three primary options. Buy, sell, and my transactions.

Every skin has a “last sold at” section that showcases how many Credits that skin was last sold for. However, it isn’t always so straightforward. Some players use their smurfs, alternate accounts, or friends’ accounts to move around skins and Credits, so the last sold price may be deceiving. It’s a good idea to interact with the skin and check the 30-day price history instead.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that selling and purchase orders are only active for thirty days. The orders expire if not completed within that period, forcing players to reevaluate their orders.

How to Buy Skins in the Rainbow Six Siege Marketplace?

Placing a purchase order in the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace

Players can buy skins by interacting with the buy option in the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace. The website gives players various ways to filter the offerings to ensure they only see what they want to buy. This includes filtering the offerings by weapon type, rarity, and even on the basis of the event it came out.

Use the following steps to buy skins from the marketplace:

  1. Open the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace website
  2. Go to the buying page
  3. Find the item you wish to buy
  4. Create a purchase order
  5. Wait for a match to be found
  6. You’ll be notified when a match is found and your order is completed

One important thing to keep in mind is that players must input the maximum Credits they’re willing to pay for the item they want. The marketplace will then only match you with an order that fits in that maximum Credits requirement, while prioritizing the lowest price. The set price is immediately deducted from the player’s balance when placing the order. Players are refunded a partial amount if the marketplace finds someone offering the skin for a cheaper price, and the entire amount if the order expires or is canceled.

How to Sell Skins In The Rainbow Six Siege Marketplace?

Placing a selling order in the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace

The sell option in the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace lets players put their skins up for auction. This page also gives players various ways to filter how they see the skins in their possession.

Use the following steps to sell skins on the marketplace:

  1. Open the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace website
  2. Go to the sell tab and select the item you want to sell
  3. Select the price you want to sell at
  4. Create a selling order
  5. Wait for a match to be found
  6. The sale will be completed when a match is found, and you’ll receive R6 Credits

If the marketplace finds a proper match for you, then the amount will be transferred to your in-game account. However, the marketplace deducts a 10% fee, which means you’ll get 270 Credits if you sell a skin for 300.
