Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 brings a unique blend of well-developed and memorable characters, dynamic storytelling, and engaging turn-based combat gameplay. Everything from the game’s soundtrack to its visuals keeps gamers on the edge and immersed completely. Many have compared it to the beloved Persona series, but it has factors that help it stand out.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s enemies are extremely versatile, ensuring that everyone has unique attack patterns that players must memorize to effectively parry. Bosses make the game really stand out, with some testing the player’s patience and skill. The Frost Eveque is exactly like that. Here’s how to find and beat the Frost Eveque in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Where to Find Frost Eveque in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?
Frost Évêque is easy to locate as the boss isn’t in a hidden location and floats in a snowy area. The enemy is also alone, so you don’t need to worry about minions taking you down while you try to kill it. While this boss is optional, most players will want to face it because of its excellent fight mechanics.
To find Frost Eveque, head to the snowy area in the center of the map. The boss is on the southern end, north of the Stone Quarry and west of the Coastal Cave. This area can be reached after reaching the Forgotten Battlefield during Act 2: Verso.
How to Beat Frost Eveque in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?
Despite being the frost elemental Eveque, the Frost Eveque resists fire and almost all other elemental attacks. However, the Frost Eveque is vulnerable to lightning. The best way to take the boss down is by striking it with lightning spells and using weapons with the lightning affinity, making Lune your best bet. The other characters will use attacks that the boss will resist, so your best bet is ensuring they can serve as proper tanks to divert attacks away from Lune.
The Frost Eveque can be a challenging opponent, depending on your level. It has various attacks, such as its spear, which it uses to slam thrice. The boss uses the spear to slam once, with two shockwaves following shortly after. The enemy also has spells that it can use at random to summon ice or lasers, depending on the spell.
The ice spell can also become more powerful when the Frost Eveque’s health drops too low. The boss will then use the spell, but it’ll have nine attacks instead of the usual three. Lastly, the boss can also do a Gradient Attack in the form of an energy beam.Remember, thanks to the optional status of this boss, players can simply return to it when they feel their level is high enough. Defeating the Frost Eveque will give players a Level 17 Energising Gradient Picto, two Resplendent Chroma Catalysts, and 5 Colour of Lumina. The Picto provides +1 AP per Gradient Charge consumed, suggesting that Sandfall Interactive wanted to ensure players get a reward befitting the awesome boss fight.
