Ultrakill Fraud Guide: How to Beat Mirror Reaper

Mirror Reaper boss

The Mirror Reaper is the Supreme Husk boss in Ultrakill, who appears in the final arena during the “Through The Mirror” section of the Layer 8: Fraud. This guide will provide you with tips and tricks on how to beat this boss in the game, including the best weapons and moves against him.

Best Loadout Against Mirror Reaper

This boss battle is really tricky, so prioritize close-range weapons for style and damage, such as the Shotgun for quick bursts, Railcannon for parry setups, and Rocket Launcher for knockbacks. But the best combo would be Coin and Piercer Revolver for precision shots on Mirror Reaper’s weak points, such as head and limbs that could deal up to 200-250% damage. Additionally, it’s recommended to bring the Sawblade Launcher, which excels due to its magnet pull on this superheavy enemy.

When it comes to the choice of style and moves, here are a few essential tips to consider:

  • Aim for Ultrakill rank by parrying his Acid Missiles and airshotting his summons.
  • Slide under his melee attacks for Taunt and Blitz.
  • Master your slide-jumping and dashing, and stay low on flat ground to duck his slashes.
  • Use Whiplash to reposition or grab orbs.
  • You can also use covers, but avoid corners, since Mirror Reaper can teleport.

Mirror Reaper Boss Fight Phase 1

As soon as you enter the arena, focus on red hand grabs, which indicate that Mirror Reaper is about to spawn. Dodge these initial hands and build style on it immediately with shotgun for Slam and Taunt. Then, follow these steps for Phase 1:

  1. If the boss skitters close, never flee too far or it’ll trigger missiles.
  2. Circle him and slide under all the melee attacks.
  3. Bait his Phantom Hands and follow back for free shots.
  4. Rail his head and limbs for locational multipliers.

Note that his Phantom Hands appear when he backs off and summons those chasing ground hands. At this moment, the boss is always open, as well as after the Vanish. Track him back to the source and deal your damage. But he can also throw a few homing red orbs at you that explode into poison gas, so parry those.

Mirror Reaper Boss Fight Phase 2

Once the Mirror Reaper drops below 50% HP, the second phase begins, where positioning is key, as you’d have to face mirrors constantly. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Dash to keep low as he repeats the same patterns from Phase 1.
  2. Avoid his air missiles and keep checking mirrors to track his movement.
  3. Use magnet saws and shotgun spray once you spot him.
  4.  Once he activates the Reaper Frenzy, his longest melee attack, you’ll have your window to finish him off.
  5. Stay grounded and slide low to spot the crossed-scythe windup in mirrors.
  6. Immediately after the final slash ends, when Mirror Reaper takes a pause, unload all you’ve got from close range.

This should be enough to finally defeat this powerful boss with a core eject. This battle unlocks the exit gate in the final arena, and the door behind the cash registers in Looping Escalators unlocks immediately, leading to a hall back to the mirror hub.
