When is The Division 2 Getting Survival Mode?

The Division 2 fans get to experience the iconic Survival Mode just like the first game. Also known as Survivors, players start with nothing and have to work their way through the harsh environment. All the while, collecting gear as you aim to extract with the best equipment you find. Whether from different areas in the map or straight from other online players you take down. Therefore, you can’t expect to take weapons like the Nemesis in with you. Because of this, the stakes are raised with this mode. But as players grind out for gear in The Division 2, many want to know when the latest Survival Mode is coming.

When is The Division 2 Getting A Survival Mode?

Currently, there are no preset dates for when we can expect The Division 2: Survivors. As the roadmap for the game, back in August 2025, details that the mode is still in the TBA phase for dates. However, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that we can expect to see the Survivors mode (as it’s known as) to debut in the near future. Whether or not it would be earlier or later in the year is also unknown.

The time frame for the mode release is tricky as the team continues to work on content updates for The Division 2. Plus, with the third entry to the series making its way at some point, the priorities may shift. The mode being announced on the previous roadmap for this upcoming year gives hope.

What to Expect from The Survival Mode in The Division 2

Players will be taking part in an extraction-style mode with other players online. If it’s anything like the version in the first game, the environment is gonna change. Instead, players may fight in a snow-covered variant of Washington, D.C. Furthermore, the main goal is to get better gear through exploring and fighting others. However, it seems Ubisoft is aiming to upgrade the gameplay mechanics that come with the mode itself. But for now, players have some mystery to look forward to with the tense mode. One thing is for sure: your character’s gear score and level won’t affect how the mode goes. Mainly because it doesn’t exist when you load into it.

But until we hear more from Massive Entertainment, there’s not much we currently know. Luckily, if you are looking to change things up in The Division 2, you’re in luck. Instead of needing to build up your gear, you can try out the match-to-match stakes of the new Survival Mode.
