5 Things Beast of Reincarnation Has to Fix

Emma and Koo bring a fresh perspective to the post-apocalyptic genre, and the two’s combat system is particularly strong. The world and areas are also good, and the Blight-infected creatures add a distinct visual presence. Beast of Reincarnation is an enjoyable game, but critics have complained about certain elements, and here are 5 things that should be fixed.

Enemy Variety

Beast of Reincarnation

Combat is one of the better elements of Beast of Reincarnation, and players in general don’t have an issue with how fighting works in the game. However, there is a common complaint that fights become stale and underwhelming soon. This is mainly because there is a very limited enemy variety and players find themselves repeatedly fighting the same bosses. Some players have even quit the game after repeatedly having to fight the same robots and Blight-infected creatures.

The game can fix this issue by simply ensuring that the stronger variants or different enemies appear in different areas, or as you progress. If you continuously encounter the same enemies you fought at the beginning of the game after putting in hours in Beast of Reincarnation, it’s logical that the game will become monotonous. There is no need to revamp or modify the combat system, as Emma’s parries feeding into Koo’s abilities is an interacting tactical setup.

Performance

Beast of Reincarnation is a relatively new game, so some issues are expected with it. However, several players have reported facing stutters or lag when entering new areas. Some PC players have also reported facing 1% low even when the average FPS is high. It’s unverified, but many of the performance issues were reportedly experienced by players on lower-end PCs. However, the performance issue has been discussed by the game’s director.

Kota Furushima apologized after launch and admitted that some technical elements and story pacing need work. He revealed that new updates are planned that will address these issues. The game’s performance isn’t terrible, but players these days expect not to face stutters and lags. This is why there have been complaints by gamers, as they want the developer to fix the issues and improve the game. Furushima stated that more technologies, such as frame generation, are planned for the future. The game has also received a new update that provided some improvements, but it doesn’t fix the issue completely.

The Story and Worldbuilding

Beast of Reincarnation has an interesting premise, where Emma and Koo are traveling in post-apocalyptic Japan in 4062, while fighting the Blight. Emma is a Blight researcher and swordswoman who is traveling through the ruined world to discover what happened. Koo is her dog and companion, who is also useful during combat. While the story is intriguing, the issue arises with its pacing, vague storytelling, and how the world is developed.

Even Kota Furushima has admitted that the narrative needs work, and an update has addressed the problem, but there is still a need for better story pacing. This could potentially be fixed by removing or trimming the game’s cutscenes that are too long and don’t contribute much to the story. Another thing that should be modified is the game jumping all over the place in the beginning. You get a more developed Emma, and then go into the past. This perspective shift makes the game’s narrative feel unnatural.

Exploration

Traveling and exploring are big elements in Beast of Reincarnation, and the game makes movement fluid. The world is also interesting, as you have forests, ruins, and other abandoned structures. There is also a decent amount of freedom to move around, and you can explore much of the world. You can also find resources and upgrades while exploring. However, the issue is similar to enemies: you keep getting similar rewards.

The game makes discovering new areas fun, but getting the same rewards in safe areas and more challenging areas can discourage players from exploring. This could also be fixed by diversifying the rewards. Players will be more likely to go into uncharted areas if they can potentially get rare items or even fight challenging bosses to get better resources. Koo can also be made a larger part of exploration, with Emma’s companion sensing or smelling rare items and rushing to dig them out.

Quality of Life Changes

This isn’t one element that needs fixing, but several different issues that stack together to make things inconvenient for players. The good thing is that Game Freak has addressed some QoL issues in an update. For instance, the developer has fixed some camera issues, such as Emma not being visible when fighting bigger enemies. The camera still needs work, and there are several other issues remaining that need to be fixed.

Conversations need to be improved, and an option to skip or automate the dialogue cutscenes can make things more convenient for players. The menu navigation is also not as fluid with a mouse due to having to press the right mouse button to exit. A fix for this could be to make the menu navigation similar to a conventional PC interface.
