How to Turn Off Gear Level in Ghost Recon Breakpoint

how to turn off gear level in ghost recon breakpoint feature

When Ghost Recon Breakpoint got into players’ hands, there was some big disappointment. It became known that the game had a gear level system similar to The Division series. If you’re not sure what it is, this had players take down foes. When you wanted to loot them, they had weapons that could be higher rated than what you had. This gave players an idea of character progression, and as you went through the game, the loot would get better. Additionally, there were activities that were closed off if your gear level was too low. It’s something that haunted Ghost Recon Breakpoint for years. Many players, myself included, wanted a more immersive experience. Luckily, that was changed with an update.

How to Turn Off Gear Level in Breakpoint

If you are just starting in Breakpoint, you can turn off gear level by picking the Immersive Mode setting. If you are already playing, head into the menu, then Settings, and select Ghost Experience Parameters. From here, go to Gear Score at the top of the page and disable it. Players can now enjoy the game without worrying about gear score. Furthermore, if you want to keep the regular mode settings without the gear level, you can customize them to your preferences.

While the gear level is off, the game will continue to summarize your gear level with the loadout and level you are at. That way, if you choose to turn the setting back on later, it will provide you with a level. However, with the setting off now, you can go fight any enemies you choose to on Auroa. Something that previously was unavailable, as different foes would have higher gear levels. However, just be aware that you need to have the setting on for certain activities.

What Activities Is a Gear Level Needed for in Breakpoint?

If you don’t have the gear score level turned on, you won’t be able to participate in the Project Titan raid. This takes place on Golem Island, and players need a gear score of 150 to join it. However, because you don’t have a gear score in Immersive, you won’t be able to do the raid. If you are looking to do it, once you switch the feature back on, it will summarize your gear. After it does this, it will give you an appropriate gear level score, and you can work up to 150.

If you are like me, gear score level in Breakpoint is something to turn off. At first, I dealt with it when I was playing the game. However, it feels more immersive and enjoyable to not have to worry about it. And if you’ve already played Wildlands, you know just how much more fun it is to choose the loadout you want from the get-go. So, now that you know how to toggle it, it’s up to you which type of gameplay you want to experience!
