There are seven Oni Armaments in Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which are special weapons summoned via the Oni Gauntlet and consume the Oni Power gauge, filled by absorbing Blue Souls. This guide will provide you with all Oni Armament locations in the game, including their exact spots on the map.
The Two Celestials Location
- Location: Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
Here, you have to approach the second Oni gate and destroy the second Thread Genma that holds the gate at the temple, after which a chest drops from the threads, containing the weapon. This early armament summons a pair of blades with a rapid flurry of attacks. Hits from this weapon cause enemies to release Yellow Souls for HP recovery, making it excellent when you’re low on health.
Oni Bow Location
- Location: Oni Refuge.
Follow the main route through the Oni Refuge and open the chest. You can’t miss this one, as it’s your main ranged weapon, which can also activate mechanisms and deal charged shots that slow down enemy stamina recovery.
Wind-Whipper Location
- Location: Obtained during the mission “The Oni’s Apprentice.”
After Takamura introduces the Practice Ground for skills practice and Boss Rematch, you’ll see a chest with a weapon. You can’t miss this double-bladed naginata that creates a wide whirlwind, which can come in contact with flame, turning it into a scorching cyclone, which is great for crowd control.
Earth-Shakers Location
- Location: Underground Laboratory, Underground Level 4.
Here, you need to reach Level 4, solve the fan puzzle, then enter the next room and loot the chest. This weapon is just a pair of massive hammers that tear through enemy stamina, shields, and armor, and you can charge it for even more power.
Firebird Flute Location
- Location: Near the Rift during the “Shadows Fall” quest.
Go to the south of the Gojo Street, near the East Spirit Shrine, and do the quest until you reach the area where the Rift. You should see the chest nearby for a weapon that summons flaming orbs that attack and ignite enemies, dealing fire damage.
Flashing Void Location
- Location: Castle Courtyard of Mount Oe.
Enter the Castle Courtyard area and look for a small cave along the route. Slide into the cave to reach the chest with a powerful lightning charge attack, which focuses on high single-target damage. Note that the charged attack slows time around you, giving you more freedom against bosses.
Still Water Location
- Location: Swamp of Arashiyama.
Explore the Swamp of Arashiyama and head to the northeastern corner for the chest, which requires a short detour off the main path. This weapon strengthens your sword and causes hits to generate purple souls. You can activate again to end the effect and unleash a golden wave of sword energy for extra damage and even more purple souls.
