Elder Scrolls Online: High Seas of Tamriel Event Guide

Elder Scrolls Online High Seas of Tamriel

Elder Scrolls Online will be taking naval combat to another level with the High Seas of Tamriel event. This event will be unique compared to previous ones that players have experienced, as both the gameplay and combat will be different. The event also brings with it unique rewards that players can unlock by completing it. Here’s what the High Seas of Tamriel is, how to start and complete it, and what rewards you can unlock.

What Is the High Seas of Tamriel Event?

Elder Scrolls Online High Seas of Tamriel

High Seas of Tamriel is an upcoming in-game Elder Scrolls Online event that is being released as part of the game’s Season One. The event will start on September 30, 2026, focusing on ship-to-ship combat and exploring the ocean to discover sunken treasure. This sets it apart from typical ESO events, as High Seas of Tamriel isn’t increasing the rewards for an existing activity. Instead, the event is specifically built around naval and underwater combat, exploration, and scavenger hunts.

High Seas of Tamriel will be based around the Gold Coast, with an enchanted ship, Riotous Redress, and the ghost Baron-Captain Olsien Guy Mard being central elements of the event. The event can be played solo, or players can take it on as part of a group. Developers have revealed that group play will be harder, as players will face more challenges and enemies.

How to Start High Seas of Tamriel

High Seas of Tamriel involves two quests, Raising the Riotous Redress and Bounty of the Abecean Sea. The first one can be started by going to the Quest Starters section of the Crown Store. Alternatively, you can also find Baron-Captain Olsien Guy Mard on the Gold Coast near Anvil.

You must complete the introductory quest to unlock the daily quest, Bounty of the Abecean Sea. Once the introductory quest is complete, you will be rewarded with the Ostentatious Pirate Wig and Hat, and the first event reward box. Completing the quest will also allow players to complete the daily Bounty of the Abecean Sea quest using the Riotous Redress’ logbook.

How Does High Seas of Tamriel Work?

Elder Scrolls Online High Seas of Tamriel

The event’s quest has two individual stages that players can complete daily per character. The first involves defending the Riotous Redress from an enemy ship. Players can use the Riotous Catapults to attack the ship and will also need to defeat enemies who attempt to board the Riotous Redress. The main objective is to ensure that the Riotous Redress isn’t destroyed. If you are unable to save the ship, you will fail the event.

The second stage involves diving in the Abecean Sea, but you must successfully win the naval battle first. You can dive underwater using the Dwemer diving chamber, and this stage’s objective is exploration and discovery, with some underwater combat. Developers have revealed that the underwater areas will have altered physics, hidden secrets, messages in bottles, and multiple bosses. The event will also allow players to deep-sea fish at Abecean Saltwater Fishing Holes, adding another activity to the underwater element.

What Are the High Seas of Tamriel Rewards?

There are multiple rewards you can get for completing the event daily, with the main unlockable being event boxes. These boxes will then reward you with one of the possible items that the event contains.

  • The first completed event quest of the day will give you a Golden Event Box
    • The first daily Golden Event Box also provides 300 Trade Bars
  • All completed event quests after the first will give you Purple Event Boxes

The boxes can contain

  • Abecean Sea Privateer outfit style pages
  • Suncleft Grotto Ornaug mount fragments
  • Nautical furnishings
  • Nautical collectibles
  • Treasure Maps
  • Antiquity leads
  • Crafting materials

The event also introduces nautical furnishings and Antiquities as rewards. Elder Scrolls Online will also introduce tradable Antiquity leads, and furnishing crafting recipes will also be obtainable as Antiquity leads.

The event’s Impresario offerings include:

  • Abecean Sea Privateer style pages
  • Floating Desires Petal
  • Blooming Saddle
  • Gilded Stirrups
  • Standard event consumables

When Does High Seas of Tamriel End?

High Seas of Tamriel will last for two weeks, ending on October 14, 2026. This gives players enough time to complete the quests multiple times, potentially obtaining all the possible rewards and collectibles. You can also complete the daily quest across characters, which increases your chances of getting more rewards.

It’s important to note that the event isn’t a permanent game mode, so you should grind during the two weeks if you want all the rewards. The developers have stated that certain elements of the event could return if the event is received positively. However, this isn’t confirmed, so it’s a good decision to make multiple runs daily, ensuring you can make the most of the opportunity.
