Sure, figuring out the different ghosts is part of the fun. However, being able to do so with different modifiers makes it even better. When I first started on Phasmophobia, I was confused when I saw Sanity Survival. But we don’t want you to be stuck on not knowing what it is, and that’s where this guide comes in. Below are the details on what Sanity Survival in Phasmophobia is and how to contend with it.
What is Sanity Survival in Phasmophobia?
Sanity Survival is a challenge mode that players can partake in. It is different from other difficulties, as various parameters work against you. It can make for a tough time, but it helps to provide a different way to enjoy Phasmophobia. One that you may not be used to. When it comes to the different modifiers, they are as follows:
- Location: 10 Ridgeview Court
- Fuse Box: Broken
- Max Evidence: 2
- Sanity Screen: No
- Starting Sanity: 75%
- Can Sanity be restored? No
- Cursed Items Available: Tarot Cards and Voodoo Doll.
- Crucifix: 1
- Incense: No
Additionally, these are all the types of equipment that you are given to use:
- Tier 1: Crucifix, EMF Reader, Ghost Writing, Head Gear, Igniter, Motion Sensor, Parabolic Microphone, Photo Camera, Salt, Sanity Medication, Sound Sensor, Spirit Box, Thermometer, and Tripod.
- Tier 2: DOTS Projector, Firelight, Flashlight, Ultraviolet Light, and Video Camera.
How to Complete Sanity Survival
To complete Sanity Survival, players must correctly identify the ghost type three separate times in this challenge mode. Luckily, there are no mistakes if you guess it incorrectly. Furthermore, there is no limit on the number of tries. So, you can continue to try as many times as you like to get it finished.
It’s best to do the mission with at least one other player. That way, you can multitask on getting both pieces of evidence. In which you can greatly narrow down which ghost it could be. Furthermore, take note of the different traits that ghosts have. This can be found in your journal in the “Ghosts” tab. For example, a Wraith will not step in salt. Small details like this can help you deduce the ghost as well.
But, if you are up for a strategy of getting things done fast, get evidence and head back to the van. With two pieces of evidence, you usually only have a few ghosts to choose from. Here, pick any ghost you think it may be, because choosing the wrong one doesn’t have consequences. Therefore, you can just hop back into the challenge right away.
Sanity Survival Rewards in Phasmophobia
For completing Sanity Survival in Phasmophobia, you will receive both $5,000 to spend on tools for your character and 5,000 EXP. Which in turn, will allow you to level up your character and unlock different items or newer tiers of items you have. The challenge can sometimes be a pain to do, but the rewards are more than worth it. When I did a challenge early on, I found myself leveling up a few times due to the boost in EXP. Plus, getting the money to spend on new equipment can help make future hunts just that much easier.
