The Persona series provides its players with a unique character system called ‘Social Links’, which represents each character through ‘Confidants’. Chihaya is a confidant you can discover later in the story.
Since every confidant and their social link has a specific start date, you will find her in the middle stage of the story. Here is a detailed confidant guide for the ever-charismatic and cheerful Chihaya and how to efficiently increase your social link level.
Where and When To Find Chihaya Confidant in Persona 5?
All social link confidants in Persona 5 have a specific date for you to initiate a link with them. For Chihaya, you must progress until the middle parts of the story and find her in Shinjuku.
She becomes available on June 22, allowing you to talk with her. As every confidant has their own respective arcana, Chihaya depends on Fortune. If you have a Fortune-based Persona, you can gain additional points.
Chihaya Confidant All Ranks Levelling Process
Below, you can find how to progress through every rank of this confidant to gain the maximum points.
Rank 1
Progressing the first rank of Chihaya’s Confidant requires hefty work, in the real world and Mementos.
- On June 22, talk with her in Shinjuku to initiate her social link.
- She runs a booth for antique items. Purchase the Holy Stone for 100,000 yen, which will initiate an event at Le Blanc.
- The next day, return to her booth and converse with her. This will open up a mission named ‘Ending the Boyfriend’s Abuse’ in Mementos. You must head deep into Chemdah Area 3 to complete it.
- After the task is accomplished, return to the real world and have a conversation with Chihaya to successfully start a Social Link.
Your choices in the conversation play an important role in gaining points. When Chihaya speaks, “I suggest you don’t try to get out of it. Or else, who knows what kind of black magic I’ll have to resort to…?” Go with the first choice, “I’ll be there,” for three points.

From here on, only conversations with Chihaya will matter to increase your rank.
- Dialogue 1: What can we do to help this woman who is so oppressed by the savagery of a male-dominated work environment? – Select ‘Encourage her.’
- Dialogue 2: Incidentally, what would you say if you wanted to encourage her? – Select “Overturn your fate…”
- Dialogue 3: Fate cannot be changed. Fate is absolute… That is how it must be. – Select “Open your mind to change…”

- Dialogue 1: How should he move forward? – Select, “Follow his heart.”
- Dialogue 2: What would you say to make him choose his childhood friend…? – Select, “Thieves may steal her away.”
If done correctly, this rank unlocks Money Reading ability. This allows Chihaya to boost your income from every battle.
Rank 4
- Dialogue 1: How can I become one of those people,Joker-san? – Select, “Trust in yourself.”
- Dialogue 2 (On phone call): Talking to you about everything is helping me feel a little better. – Select, “I didn’t do much.”
Rank 5
This requires only a single dialogue.
- This way, I can suggest new alternatives instead of leaving them resigned to their fates. – Select, “You’re such a hard worker.”
Rank 6
- Dialogue 1: All this talk about me being a maiden or a monster… – Select, “You’re just Chihaya to me.”
- Dialogue 2 (On phone call): I just can’t find the courage to say what I need to… – Select, “Be honest with yourself.”

This Chihaya rank unlocks Affinity Reading, boosting your relationship with the selected confidant.
- Dialogue 1: I’m a terrible person, huh? – Select, “I don’t think so.”
- Dialogue 2 (On phone call): I’m done turning a blind eye. – Select, “Are you gonna be okay?”
Rank 8
For this rank, Chihaya will have a conversation with the player. This unlocks a mission in Mementoes named ‘Debunking the Psychic’ in Kaitul Area 3. Once the quest is complete, return to Chihaya.
- Dialogue 1: It’s even shown up on the news! – Select, “I know.”
- Dialogue 2: It’s almost like this curse that’s followed me ever since the villagers called me a monster… has passed. – All choices here will reward you with the same points.
- Dialogue 3: Are you… interested in older women…? – Select, ” Hell yeah, I am.”
- Dialogue 4 (On phone call): I think that’s thanks to your influence. – Select, “It was all your own will.”
Rank 9
- Dialogue 1: To avoid our fates… – Select, “Well, fate can’t be changed now.”
- Dialogue 2: Why do you come here? – With this dialogue, you will receive a choice to either romance Chihaya or keep your bond platonic. Select “I like having my fortune read” for friendship or “So I can be with you” for romance.
- Dialogue 3 (On phone call, if romanced): Select, “I wanted to hear your voice too.”

Nothing specific is required for the final rank. All answers will suffice.
If you hang out with Chihaya at different places, you can further increase your relationship with the correct choices.

Select either ” Superiority?” or “Such a delicious thrill” for maximum points.
