Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 to Return to ‘Nuk3town’

A redesigned version of bite-sized Call of Duty map Nuketown will be free for fans who preorder Black Ops III for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, Activision has today announced.

‘Nuk3town’ will take the older 1950s U.S. suburb and give it the Back to the Future 2 treatment, as the map is set in 2065.

However, this isn’t the first time Nuketown has seen a facelift, as Black Ops 2 had the map set in 2025. One aspect that didn’t change with Nuketown 2025, though, was the close-quarters combat the level has become nearly synonymous with. Much like other infamous additions such as Dome, Rust and Hijacked, Nuketown’s claustrophobia-inducing corridors has fans either loving or hating its design.

Shotguns and tac knives and n00b tubes and rockets: these are a few of my favorite things.

While map specifics haven’t been announced, it’s not hard to imagine another design that’ll have friends and enemies alike rubbing elbows once again; just don’t forget to pack your favorite shotgun when you make your first trek on this level. The only bit of information regarding the new Nuk3town is that the redesign will emphasize the new chained motion system which speeds up player traversal to new heights.

The title is set to release November 6, 2015 on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
