A number of Xbox One customers have today been ‘accidentally’ granted access to FIFA 16, over a full week ahead of the title’s official UK release date of September 24.
UK catalogue retailer Argos and Microsoft itself are reportedly behind the blunder, with the newly-launched FIFA 16 Xbox One bundle being offered for sale in the UK today (September 15), ahead of originally planned. While the game included comes in the form of a digital download, eagle-eyed users noticed that they were able to redeem the promo code via the Xbox Games Store and begin downloading (and subsequently play) the game immediately.
Update: While Microsoft has since revoked access to the game via the Xbox store, a ‘lucky few’ users have successfully installed the game on their systems, and are able to play it prior to the game’s now not-so exclusive early access period on EA Access on September 17 and official launch next week.
A lucky few accidentally got #FIFA16 early in the FIFA 16 Bundle; others will need to hold tight until #EAAccess on 9/17 or launch on 9/22
