During a live talk at EGX 2015 on 20 Years of PlayStation, the president of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, revealed that being a part of the creation of adventure game Journey was his proudest moment of the past two decades.
Yoshida’s grandmother unfortunately passed away a couple of years before Journey’s original PS3 release in 2012. The heartfelt game, developed by Thatgamecompany, almost brought him to tears when he played the final version, he admitted to the packed audience. It was the ending in particular that brought some fond memories of his beloved relative to the surface.
The emotion-driven game received similar reactions from gamers and touched many hearts with its fantastic graphic style and story. Perhaps most importantly, though, it was the music which accompanied players throughout its three-hour campaign that pulled hardest on the heartstrings.
