Following a number of leaks earlier in the week, Ubisoft has today officially unveiled Far Cry Primal, the latest entry in its popular open-world series.
The game, which is scheduled to release in February 2016, sees the franchise transported to the Stone Age, where players can expect to encounter “massive beasts”, “breathtaking environments”, and “unpredictable savage encounters”.
According to the game’s official website, Far Cry Primal will be set in a “time of extreme danger and limitless adventure, when giant mammoths and sabretooth tigers ruled the Earth, and humanity is at the bottom of the food chain”. As the last survivor of your hunting group, players “will learn to craft a deadly arsenal, fend off fierce predators, and outsmart enemy tribes to conquer the land of Oros and become the Apex Predator.”
Far Cry Primal will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 23, 2016, with a PC release set to follow in March.
