Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Receives Emergency Patch After Xbox One Users Left Unable to Play Online

Activision is rolling out an emergency patch for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, after the first-person shooter’s December update left a number of Xbox One users unable to play multiplayer for over 24 hours.

When attempting to connect to an online match or the game’s Zombies in Spaceland mode, a large number of players on Microsoft’s console were instead faced with the following message: “The game will now restart due to an update failure. (Error Code: POLANA)”. The bug was apparently caused by a fault in the game’s 1.06 patch, which released Tuesday night for consoles and PC.

Now, over a full day later, developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision have released an emergency title update for Infinite Warfare, which according to early user reports is fixing the issue.
