Nintendo’s Super Mario Run accumulated 2.85 million downloads on its first day of release.
That’s according to analytics firm Apptopia, who have the side-scrolling auto-runner beating out Pokémon Go’s first-day downloads of 900,000 – although the latter title did feature a staggered release worldwide.
Meanwhile, investment banking firm Jefferies has estimated that Super Mario Run will be downloaded over 500 million times by Q3 2017.
