Unveiled and released today, a new VR experience titled The Forgotten Chamber is now available as a free download from the Oculus Store, exclusively for the Oculus Rift device.
Canadian developer Archiact describes The Forgotten Chamber as horror exploration game, where players are immersed in a fully 3D environment, featuring intense binaural audio, which is a full 360 degree hearing spectrum. The game is set inside an ancient emperor’s tomb, where one must venture down to depths unknown and unravel any and all secrets of the chamber.
Using its profound 3D atmospheric audio effects, the game will look to draw players into the environment using intuitive movement and instant immersion.
Originally developed as a contest for a film promotion, the idea transformed into something more and senior producer of Archiact Jennifer Dowding said the following about the team’s production: “Chamber was a passion project and we hope the Oculus audience enjoys it as much as we did making it.”
