Square Enix Trademark Filing Hints at New Original IP

A recent trademark filing by Square Enix may provide a hint of the studio’s latest original IP.

According to the Japan Patent Office, the company filed for the ‘Studio Istolia’ trademark in the country on December 2 – although the application was only published today.

The trademark application was made in NICE classes 9 and 16, which cover “computer game programs; downloadable software programs for playing computer games and video games over the Internet”, and “games and playthings”, respectively.

We will continue to monitor the trademark application and keep you updated on any progress or further news.
