Atari is teaming up with Gameband to produce a new piece of wearable hardware, the company has today announced.
According to an email shot and teaser website, a full reveal for the “brand new gaming hardware” is coming on February 1.
The company added: “We’re getting ready to announce some new tech that will let you play classic Atari titles in a whole new way.”
The original Gameband was released for the holiday season in 2014 as a Minecraft accessory, effectively serving as a wearable memory card by allowing players to take their game saves with them on the go. It remains unclear whether its latest iteration will be of that ilk, or more along the lines of a smart watch.
