2018 was a great year for gaming and we can only hope that the next year will be even better. We got some great games this year and we are excited about the upcoming titles as well. Fortnite was the most searched game in 2018 followed by Red Dead Redemption 2.
This is not surprising keeping in mind that it is a $2 billion franchise that managed to push Sony towards introducing cross-play. We have seen plenty of Fortnite related content online and celebrities are even starting to sue Epic Games for using their dance moves.
Not only has the battle royale title entered the mainstream consciousness around the world, it is also set to propel the eSports industry to new heights. While its entry into the competitive gaming scene was relatively cautious considering its appeal, it’s clear that Epic is set to get behind Fortnite as an eSports juggernaut in 2019, with the inaugural Fortnite World Cup due to be held at some point in the year, with prize money totalling a whopping $100 million.
With the tournament set to be open to all, it will increase awareness and engagement with the eSports industry as a whole, with bookmakers also set to benefit from the mainstream exposure. For instance, a number of mainstream sportsbooks are getting on board with eSports; William Hill’s sign up offer comes recommended by OLBG tipsters and allows bettors to stake on the largest eSports tournaments as well as ‘traditional’ sports.
Fortnite hasn’t been the only success story of 2018 by any means, and the following are the most searched-for games of 2018:

Fantasy plays a big role in pornography (and indeed in human sexuality), so it’s only natural that people will desire seeing sexual scenarios involving the game characters they emotionally connect with. In April when Fortnite’s servers crashed, searches for Fortnite increased by as much as 60% over a 24 hour period.
