Apex Legends – Hammond Robotics Are Evil

Apex Legends Season 4 is now well under way, so it should be clear to everyone that they’re a truly evil corporation. I wasn’t so sure about this at first, but having seen the latest gameplay trailer for the game’s new season, I’m now certain that Hammond Robotics are no good for anyone. The company is seemingly responsible for the creation of Revenant, which we can get into in a minute, and they’re harvesting planets for some reason too. Take a look at the video below and read on for more details.

What Is Revenant?

We’ve all seen Revenant, and we all know he’s an evil dude, but I don’t think he was born that way. In the video that revealed him, Revenant originally saw himself as human, and he went out killing people for money for a living. However, during one attack, he shorts a circuit and sees himself for what he is, a simulacrum. These machines are used in the Titanfall universe, which Apex Legends is a part of, to resurrect pilots, allowing them to continue fighting on. The difference with Revenant is that he seems to have been resurrected against his will, which is why he had no idea of what he was. Now he’s out for revenge, understandably, against the company that created him, Hammond Robotics. If that isn’t evil, I don’t know what is.

Planet Harvesting

In the video above you can hear Hammond Robotics boasting about a new piece of technology that’s a standout feature in the new World’s Edge map, a Planet Harvester. This is a device that sucks up the magma under a planet’s surface, processes it, and sends the energy to elsewhere in the galaxy, maybe even the universe. Without that magma constantly moving and shifting beneath the surface, a planet’s magnetosphere, which protects places like Earth from solar flares, will dissipate. Hammond Robotics could be killing all life on planets around the universe with these machines, and they’re proud of it. Considering how close Earth is to irreversible climate change yet again, I think we can all agree that this makes Hammond Robotics a truly maniacal corporation.

Maybe you love Hammond Robotics, maybe you don’t. Either way, please let me know in the comments so that I can get a gauge for just how many of our readers are as evil as Hammond Robotics.
