Fallout 4: New Vegas Is Looking Good

Fallout: New Vegas is possibly the greatest game in the Fallout series. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, it took players on journeys that they never thought they’d get to experience within the Fallout universe, flipping almost everything that players assumed they knew on its head. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like a sequel to New Vegas is ever going to release, and the game is beginning to look older and older with every passing year. Luckily a group of modders is working on a mod for Fallout 4 that brings the game to life in a whole new engine, Fallout 4: New Vegas.

This video is just the latest look at Fallout 4: New Vegas. Shot for shot, this is not only a true remake, it’s a stunning recreation using mod tools in a completely different game. The effort that the people working on the project have gone to with this section of the game alone is incredible, and only shows that they’re completely capable of the full remake with time.

As someone who played hundreds of hours of Fallout: New Vegas, I can’t wait to play Fallout 4: New Vegas. Any excuse to revisit the Mojave Wasteland is enough to get me to boot the game up again, because no other Fallout game has lived up to it.

However, as you can see in the footage above, there’s a lot of scene setting and ‘acting’ to recreate for almost every part of the game. It’s not a simple case of moving characters around and having them say certain lines, voice actors need to be used to record the dialogue, and everything needs to be coordinated to match up with the original game. The progress looks good so far, but this really is just a progress update from the mod team.

If you’re even vaguely interested in this mod, you can head over to its main hub here. Bethesda seems to be working on Fallout 76 as their main project, which is completely fine because that needs a lot of work. If you want a new, better, single player Fallout experience though, then Fallout 4: New Vegas is the mod to download and get stuck into when it finally launches.
