Bloodborne 2 Should Just Be The Chalice Dungeons

I’m well aware that From Software is only launching Elden Ring as its next game. While we all want Bloodborne 2, I don’t think that we’re going to be getting it anytime soon, if ever. The thing is, the creator of Dark Souls never wanted to make Dark Souls 2, and that game is the worst in the trilogy because of it. The effort came back in Dark Souls 3, but that sequel was abysmal. Still, I’ve been thinking about what I’d like from Bloodborne 2, if it were ever to be made, and I’ve settled on the idea that it should purely be the Chalice Dungeons part of the first game.

For those who don’t know, Bloodborne has a massive section called the Chalice Dungeons. These see you explore underneath the game world and delve deep into the history of the world itself. You figure out where all the mad enemies came from and face some of the toughest bosses you’ll ever see. As you go deeper and enter creepier and creepier Dungeons, you uncover more of the lore of the world, and start to realise why everything is so crazy above.

There’s a randomised element to these dungeons that makes them even more fun to play. You can use a Chalice to create a unique dungeon and jump in to face brand new enemies. There are also pre-set Dungeons that are exactly what was intended for you to explore, if you want that story side of things. This is what I think From Software should make Bloodborne 2 to be. You could have hundreds of Chalice Dungeons to conquer, and give each one various randomised elements to take on once you’ve beaten the story.

I think that From Software fans would love to see more of Bloodborne, and this is the best way to get the most story in. There doesn’t need to be a big open world to move around. Instead, you can segment everything into Dungeons and have players explore the idea of dreams and reality through those. The bosses could be even more surprising, and the underground limitation has never hurt Dark Souls, so I don’t see why it would be a bad thing here.
