You Should Replay God Of War This Christmas

God of War is coming to PC in 2022, but it’s already available for you to play right now on PS4 and PS5. I’m talking about the reboot of the franchise that also manages to continue to into a new part of mythology. It’s a fantastic game, particularly because of the ones that came before it, and I have to say that it’s one you need to play. If you haven’t already given this fantastic game a go, please take the time to play it this Christmas because it’ll be an adventure that you won’t regret. It’s got everything you could ever want and more, and I want as many people to enjoy it as possible.

The rebooted God of War leads into God of War: Ragnarok. It sees Kratos and his son Atreus in the world of Midgar, where Kratos’ partner and Atreus’ mother has recently died. Along their journey to take her ashes to the top of a nearby mountain, several things happen that trigger all sorts of events that Kratos and his son will then have to work through. I’m not ashamed to admit that I only recently started replaying the game, and my favourite part so far has been the world of the Dark Elves that’s all twisted and filled with disgusting stuff.

The game explores a huge chunk of norse mythology, but it also advances the God of War formula. While in the original games you were running down a narrow corridor and fighting every enemy you faced, with only the occasional puzzle, this game has open sandbox areas with challenges to take on and all sorts of collectibles to gather. Everything has been taken to its next logical step, and it plays really well. There’s also now a level system that you need to use instead of the basic skills and upgrades from the early games.

This is one of my top recommendations for the Christmas period. IF you haven’t got plans to play anything, please pick this up and give it a go. It’s not that expensive these days, and it’s the perfect way to show off what your PS5 is capable of.
