Survival on the wild island of Sons Of The Forest, surrounded by mutants and cannibals, is extremely difficult, and there are many tools and weapons to help you survive. The Shovel is one of these tools, and it is an extremely important and must-have tool because it allows you to access many different weapons, caves, and bunkers.
To be able to get Shovel you will need a couple of other tools. First, you will need to get Rebreather and then get the Rope Gun. In the cavern where you will find the Shovel, you will need a Rebreather to pass under the water and you are unlikely to pass without this item. Rebreather will help you breathe underwater like in normal diving tanks.
The second item Rope Gun will allow you to travel through the zipline and you can make your own zipline network with it. You also use Rope Gun for transporting wood logs to your base location from different locations.
You will need to use your Rope Gun right after you enter the cave where you will find your Shovel. Get to the other side using the zipline, and you will find underground water. This is where your Rebreather comes in handy, dive into the water and follow the cave system under the water.
Shortly after getting up from the slope, you will come across with water stream. After a sliding cutscene, you will fall back into the water. Head in the direction of the spotlights and take the entrance on the right after seeing the bodies of the two workers.
Shortly after heading in this direction, you’ll find a small pool of water where you’ll need to dive again. You’ll have two different paths out of here and when you turn to the right you’ll see the Shovel on top of a worker’s corpse.
How To Exit From The Cave?
Getting out of this cave can be a little tricky. Turn back and proceed the way you came from after you get your Shovel. Pass through the water and follow the path, when you see a spotlight, head towards it and go through the entrance on the left with crystals around it.
You will come across the spotlight again, head towards it and turn left and you will see an entrance. When you enter this entrance, a large ugly creature will pierce the wall on your left. You can blow up this creature with any explosive to clear your way. Follow the path that opens you will reach the exit eventually.
