What a great show January’s show was, we have new releases, re-makes of classics and Kojima let off the leash once-and-for-all by Sony with a fantastic new surprise!

This is the first State Of Play of 2024 for PlayStation and they did not disappoint starting the year with a bang, so without further ado, here is everything from State Of Play January 2024

The new Death Stranding has a name

The sequel to wildly successful Death Stranding is going to be called Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.

Norman Reedus is reprising his role as Sam Porter Bridges and this time, it looks like he is going up against a group called ‘Drawbridge’

We had a potential villain reveal, where the character in question wielded a chainsaw-guitar-gun and it was epic!

Norman Reedus will be joined by Elle Fanning, Lea Seydoux, Shioli Kutsuna and Troy Baker – to name but a few.

The game is slated for a 2025 release and we couldn’t BE more excited!

Kojima is making a new action-espionage game

Sticking with all things Kojima, he joined Sony on stage to announce he is making a return to a genre he has much passion for after being in the gaming space for 40 years. The game will blur the line between movies and gaming, and will use all of Sony’s constituent parts of movies, music etc. The IP in question is BRAND new and is a project he has planned for a while before announcing, so here’s hoping a worth successor to Metal Gear Solid is on the horizon!

We know more about Rise Of The Ronin

Team Ninja pulled back the curtain on Rise Of The Ronin and gave more details about the game. We saw the 1-on-1 sword combat, which includes a parry system and the hub world of Yokohama. The game is shaping up to be a fantastic action-adventure title for the ages and we will know more when we get our hands on it on March 22 of this year.

Until Dawn is being remastered

The long-awaited and rumoured Until Dawn remaster was confirmed in this State Of Play. Peter Stormare narrated the revisiting of the old world with updated graphics and enhanced features for the PS5 and PC. The slated release date is sometime in 2024.

More details about Stellar Blade released

The upcoming action game from Shift Up and Sony IE is confirmed to be releasing on April 26 2024. It takes place on an apocalyptic Earth after a mysterious enemy has forced the remaining humans to flee to a colony. The main characters, Adam and Lily, must work together and destroy mech-like enemies and hostile survivors. Guns and swords are heavily featured throughout and the game is looking slick as heck. We cannot wait to get our hands on this one and give those mechs “what for!”

Dragon’s Dogma 2 got another trailer

More details appeared in the trailer and we have a confirmed date of March 22nd 2024.

Sonic X Shadow Generations Announced

Sonic X Shadow Generations appears to be a enhanced remaster of Sonic Generations with Shadow the hedgehog joining and bringing new content with him. The trailer showed the same levels you remember from the 2011 Sonic Generations, but also showcased Shadow-led levels. The game is coming to both generations in Autumn 2024

A free-to-play Silent Hill is available to play today

Konami revealed Silent Hill: The Short Message, which is a free-to-play Silent Hill spin-off will be available to play today. They also shared new details for the Silent Hill 2 remake, no date has been given for release yet.

Ken Levine’s Judas got a new trailer

The bioshock creator’s new game, looks an awful lot like his previous work but that isn’t a bad thing. Levine is a wonderful story-crafter and anything he has planned is sure to be a treat for us. This seems to be a first-person vibrant dystopian adventure, we’ll know more in the coming year.

V rising is coming to PS5 in 2024

Nothing really to say there, Stunlock studios survival game, V Rising is making its way to PS5 sometime this year.

Dave The Diver is coming to Playstation

The sleeper Indie hit, Dave The Diver took the world by storm last year and is looking to attempt to repeat that success this year on Playstation, Dave is also bringing Godzilla with him in May 2024.

Hoyoverse’s new game Zenless Zone Zero is in development for Playstation 5

Metro Awakening VR trailer dropped

Now we can be terrified all over again, in VR this time.

Legendary Tales revealed for PSVR 2

Upcoming first-person adventure game Legendary Tales is coming to PSVR 2 from developer Urban Wolf. Combat will include arrows, hammers, magic and swords – to name a few things

Things got Foamy with Square Enix

Foamstars dropped a new trailer ahead of next week’s launch. The game releases on PS Plus next week and Square Enix couldn’t wait to show more off in preparation of that. The competitive shooter is looking as cute, as it is cruel. All wrapped up in a wonderful foamy and bubbly exterior. Definitely one to grab when it launches on February 6th.

Helldivers 2 trailer

We got another look at the Helldivers sequel which is schedule to land on February 8th.
